Kawhi Leonard developing into a scoring Rodman?

Leonard could easily average 10+ rebounds & points a game and turn into a double double machine. I love watching him play and his style reminds me a lot of the badboy HOF player Dennis Rodman.

I see him more in the mold of Shawn Marion with less athleticism but far better (IMO) offensive skills. Needs to continue to improve his handle and start creating for other players to make the next step, IMO.

I swear people make the most base comparisons ever.

Player gets rebounds = Rodman
Player shoots well = Bird if not a star Kerr
Player makes good passes = Magic.

NOTHING about Leonard reminds me of Rodman. As was said Shawn Marion's a better comparison, and even that isn't that great.

He's already got 10x the offensive game rodman ever thought of having, and is only in his 2nd year. He's a good rebounder, but a lot of the reason he was getting so many rebounds this series was because of the matchup. Also he is a small forward, and can only play limited minutes at pf. I think he's going to develop into an Allstar, but he is nothing at all like rodman.

I bet he averages something like 15 pts, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, .8 blocks next season. If he reaches his potential I think a good comparison might be Andre iguodala with a better jump shot.

I think you're underrating Marion's offensive skills. In his prime, Marion was averaging right around 20 points a game.

That being said, I completely agree with your assessment other than the fact that I think he'll come closer to emulating Marion, albeit with a better jumper.

Pop still saying he's gonna be a star. I think Marion/iggy will be his ceiling. I would consider those two pretty damn good players but it all depends on your definition of star

I more think these types of comparisons are reasonable.. I wouldn't depend on him to be the franchise guy though..
