    Re-Drafts

With NBA draft in a few days, wanted to see if people on here wanted to do redrafts of past years drafts. Just post top few picks(just the all stars or something if you want) in a years draft(choose any year(s) you want) and rank where each guy prob should have gone.

If you have knowledge on how teams rosters were built back then, then go ahead and make the pick make sense(according to teams needs and stuff), if not, then just pick best player or something.

2003 for example, I'd choose Bosh going to Detroit over Carmelo or Wade because Pistons needed a PF(their current option at the time was Cliff Robinson) more than SG(their option at the time was Rip Hamilton) or SF(their option at the time was Prince)

I'll do some now: (I'm just doing the main all star players for a few years)

    Re: Re-Drafts

    01:
    Wizards: Brian Scalabrine(Just kidding!)....Tony Parker
    Clippers: Pau Gasol
    Hawks: Tyson Chandler
    Bulls: Joe Johnson
    Warriors: Zach Randolph

Would've picked Battier for the Warriors, but they had like 5 SFs that year.

    06:
    Raptors: LaMarcus Aldridge
    Bulls: Rajon Rondo
    Bobcats: Brandon Roy
    Blazers: Rudy Gay
    Hawks: Paul Millsap

Rondo over Roy because Bulls had Ben Gordon and Deng at the 2 and 3, respectively.

    07: (For y'all Blazer fans)
    Blazers: Kevin Durant
    Sonics: Al Horford
    Hawks: Marc Gasol
    Grizzlies: Mike Conley
    Celtics: Joakim Noah

Horford over Gasol because the Sonics were looking for offense with their pick, plus scouts have seen him more here in the States than Gasol, who was overseas. Griz would still take Conley over Noah because Marc Gasol was their starting center that year.

      Re: Re-Drafts

I personally believe Oden shouldn't be considered a "bust" but rather "unlucky". If it wasn't for injuries, he could have seriously become one of the top big man in today's league. You ask any GM prior to the 2007 draft, and most would've taken Oden over Durant. I mean during his college season he didn't suffer any serious injuries and played 32 games during his lone season. As for his productivity, he averaged 11.1 PTS, 8.5 REB & 2.3 BLK whilst only playing 23.9 minutes per game in his sophomore season. Although he only played 21 games that season, it sure was quite impressive. If Oden didn't have any major injuries he could have been a superstar. I get the term "bust" in terms of what he has done for the franchise but talent-wise, he is definitely no "bust".

        Re: Re-Drafts

Rod Higgins has said he had a deal in place to move up to #3 overall in 2005 with Portland, but then at the last second they backed out and went with Utah's trade. Would've had Chris Paul starting his career in Charlotte.

He'd still likely end up in LA given how badly we tend to mess up. Outside of Emeka, Gerald, Kemba, and MKG every draft pick we've had has been a total dumpster fire.
