They still have that LeBron guy though.

        Re: Predict the 2013 - 2014 season

David Stern is implicated of taking steroids in the Biogenesis scandal. But somehow Tim Donaghy and Ryan Braun take the fall.

Kobe Bryant has his worst shooting season, shooting a career low 35%, as he focuses more on his assists, he averages a career high of 7 assists but his turnover ratio suffers as he turns it over a record high 20 times a game. Blames Dwight Howard.

Lebron takes home MVP honors, Lil Wayne is not invited to the ceremony, and goes on yet another tirade against the Heat. But he is no longer relevant, as it has been leaked that a 3 year old has been writing his lyrics all along. Shocker.

Michael Jordan comes out of retirement for one game against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, "says he has to show the young guys who is still boss", and that players are not respecting the game once again. Kobe scores 15 points on 80 shots. Jordan attributes it to his defense, even though his offense did not show up, with a career low 4 points. "Jordan says after could have been worse, I could have drafted Kwame Brown" Oh...

The Heat beat the Warriors for their 3rd title in a row. Steph Curry excites exploding for 90 points including 20 threes in Game 6, Kobe's not impressed, "He didn't have to play against the Raptors though" Kobe insisted, "I did them dinosaurs dirty yo".

Eventually the Heat close it out in Game 7, for their 3rd title in a row, Chris Bosh takes home the Playoff MVP honors, attributes success to finally realizing he was an Ostrich, Bosh says he was ready to come out since his days in Toronto, "it just feels good, and now my head is completely clear". Lebron ends the season with the quote of the year: "Bosh was huge this season, but he's a weird mother****er"

Am I wrong to think that they'll be worst without Dwight to clean up the mess that the perimeter defense creates? Especially with Metta gone.

*Andrew Bynum averages 17.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, and shoots 57% from the field, but is out for the final few regular season games and all of playoffs.

*DeMarcus Cousins averages 19 and 10, and makes All-Star team.

                        Random Predictions

*Rajon Rondo is traded in February to Detroit, which is what vaults them into the 8th seed.

                        *Brandon Jennings is traded somewhere

                        *Amare Stoudemire is traded somewhere.

*Dallas trades Shawn Marion & Vince Carter to someone

*Oklahoma City trades for a scorer to bring off of the bench; I'm thinking Lou Williams.

*Looking for toughness and energy off the bench, the Clippers trade for either Brandon Bass or Kris Humphries

*Either the Grizzlies or Wizards trade for Gerald Wallace.

*Danny Green wins 3 Point Contest.

*We don't see a 50 point game from anyone.

*Bold Prediction - Kevin Durant wins Finals MVP on losing team, after averaged 33 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2 blocks per game, while shooting 56% from the field.

                        *Charlotte Bobcats get #1 Pick

We should have a thread for each playoff spot in the NBA. Sure, it'd end up being 16 diff threads but still, it'd really help get the forums consensus predictions on who finishes where.

They are obviously still one of the favorites. All I'm saying is with the way people have been talking about the Heat lately and Wade's "rapidly aging body" plus the fact that the other contenders in the East will be improved next year, I expected a little more variety with the picks in this thread.

As of today I'd say this is the year someone in the East beats them, but I want to see what moves they make if any before predicting that.

                              My predictions

                              WEST

                              1.Thunder 61-21
                              2.Spurs 58-24
                              3.clippers 57-25
                              4.warriors 55-27
                              5.rockets 51-31
                              6.grizzlies 49-33
                              7.lakers 44-38
                              8.pelicans 43-39

                              Honorable mention timberwolves, nuggets,trailblazers,mavericks

                              How the west shapes up:

reggie jackson becomes a great sixth man, or thunder make a last minute move that no one expected for a great sixth man. They hold the best record in the nba at 61-21 with teams like the grizzlies, knicks, heat, and warriors, and rockets being a thorn in there side. Spurs are gonna be hungry to get back to finals cuz theyve never lost one before. rockets will be decent, GSW will be even more exciting to watch, cp3 is still gonna have to do everything for the clippers, and blake griffins name will continue to be a running gag amongst big men in the nba.

                              West playoff predictions:
Okc Sas in the WCF. Okc in 7, they go to the finals to face either the pacers or bulls. Okc takes it in 6. Houston will make a 2nd round exit after barely winning the first round, clips are still not gonna make it out of the first round, and GSW will only go to conference finals if they can avoid okc, houston, or sas. Pelicans as well as lakers make first round exit.

                              EAST

                              1.Miami 60-22
                              2.Bulls 58-24
                              3.Pacers 55-27
                              4.Nets 53-29
                              5.Knicks 50-32
                              6.wizards 42-40
                              7.cavs 41-41
                              8.hawks 41-41

                              How the east shapes up:

Miami will try to ride there champinship status, but now that the east just got tougher(if they can stay healthy) miami will have a worse record, most likely getting swept in the season series by NYK, Chi, and IND, and splitting 2-2 with the nets. Plus they have to deal with western teams than can beat them. Im not sold on d rose playing like mvp drose yet, and this kg and pp trade to the nets doesn't seem like it'll be as great as everyone says. Needless to say the miami team is past its prime, and with a tougher east there no longer gonna be the favs of the east.

                              East playoff predictions:

Miami sweeps hawks, chicago goes 5games with the cavs, indi goes 5 games with washington. nyk goes 6-7 games with brooklyn, then loses. indi goes 7 games with chicago, and wins and goes back to the ECF with miami, nets and heat goe 6 games, miami is the victor. Heat and Pacers, face off, indy in 6, unless heat show a little more fight, then indy in 7.

Finals: okc vs indy, okc in 6. Indy can't contain kd scoring ability, but will have a couple of good nights on the boards, and hibberts rim protection will well, but okc will keep indy running, and again, you can't contain kd. So put it all together and what you get, bibbidy babiddy okc wins in 6 and kevin durant wins finals mvp.

EDIT: Forgot about the cavs and wizards, rated lakers, cavs, and wiz too high.

I think most people go with the "Champs or the Champs until they are knocked off" thing. Or at least show major weakness. The Heat have come in at cruise control every year. I think King_B_Mack said it best. The Heat do the same thing they been doing since year one of the big 3.
