    Re: Michael Beasley

    Thought he was going to be the next big thing. I legitimately believed that he would develop into something special and we would see a very solid 20 and 8 guy. Boy how wrong I was.

      Hopefully he goes to China and gets busted for his habit there.

        Just imagine how different the NBA could look today if the Bulls picked Beasley back in '08 though. ESPECIALLY the Bulls and Heat.

          @MiamiHEAT
          OFFICIAL: The @MiamiHEAT have signed Michael Beasley.

          @IraHeatBeat 10m
          NBA source tells Sun Sentinel that Miami Heat will sign Michael Beasley to non-guaranteed, make-good contract from training camp.

          @IraHeatBeat 9m
          While Beasley will receive the 5-year veteran minimum of $1,027,424, Heat's actual salary-cap hit will be only $788,872, under the cap.

            If you said a few years ago that Beasley and Oden were going to be on the same team, im guessing you'd assume that'd be one loaded team.

            If either of the two of them work out Miami did a great job.

              Imagine if the Telfair rumors become true as well. That would be crazy to see Telfair, LeBron, Oden, and Beasley all on the same team. A few years ago we would have assumed that would be a line-up for the All-Star game or something lol.

                  Miami Heat now have 7 players on their roster drafted in the top 6 of the NBA draft

                  lol,like people were saying, Beasley-Oden on same team. Something that if people heard was happening around 2008, they'd be going crazy saying how good that team would be. Crazy to look back at both years and see Oden over Durant and Beasley over Love.

                    And the rich get richer! Solid pick up for the heat. They have a strong locker room so they'll keep him in check.

                      So no one has brought up the point that Beasley simply isn't that good, rather than pot driving him out of the NBA?

                      Dude has no work ethic, no passion for the sport, and no need to get better.

                      I suppose you could have worse guys at the end of your bench, but let's not make it out like he is some sort of steal. He's an awful player.

                        Re: Michael Beasley

                        There are still flashes of his game, and it's a nice one when he's on point, so I actually wish this dude would turn it around. It's not so much that he's not good, it's just he didn't build on his game when he took that next step. Obviously the work ethic is a big knock, but it's not like this guy didn't have talent. Or at least the potential to be a legit pro. I do agree with those that say he was shown a little too much love, but I banked on him building on his game. Gotta love the Oden dynamic, too, as it takes that much more pressure off Beasley. One of these moves is going to work out in terms of being an honest contributor.

                          It's all situational. On a team like Phoenix he was a negative on the court. He was terrible on defense and a waste on offense. They were better when he was on the bench.

                          Thing is... He IS a talented offensive player. He HAS the athleticism to be a solid defender. When focused he IS a good rebounder.

                          With Miami, if he isn't checked in, then he won't play. This isn't a terrible Suns team where they pretty much have to play him and hope he decides to bring it. Its a completely different dynamic. If he doesn't play well they can cut him with no loss. I'd say the risk/reward factor here makes it a steal.

                          If I were to bet on it, I'd say he shows flashes on offense while playing poorly on defense, and ends up relegated to spot duty or Eddy Curry treatment. On the chance it does work out however, its absolutely a great investment.

                            Heat don't won't another Play-offs series with Pacers, but if that manifests, presumably they've got bodies now.
