C.O.Y. will be close. Sloan or maybe Porter will prolly get the nod, both were projected as rebuilding, cellar-dwellers after their teams being blown-up. Silas did a great job this year instilling some toughness in the Cavs, same with Bdzelik(sp?) but 'Bron and Melo were EXPECTED to elevate their clubs. There were 3 teams that were supposed to stink this season, and their respective coaches deserve a look.

Stan Van Gundy (after Riley stepped down, who expected the Heat to play this well?)

Porter (After losing ALL of their key vets this was supposed to be a rebuilding year)

      Sloan (See Porter)

If the Lakeshow wins the title, I wouldn't be surprised if Phil gets it after holding it together after all the turmoil, in-fighting, media blow-ups, Shaq/Ref conflicts, Kobe legal situations and injuries.

The COY award, and all the awards, except for Finals MVP, are given for in-season achievements. They have nothing to do with the playoffs. That being said, I think that the COY award will be the toughest to give out this year. There are so many candidates.

Hubie Brown - Plays a good 10 man rotation and gets everyone to buy into his system. He, and Jerry West, have changed the attitudes of the entire franchise. They are all about winning now, and do it very well. He's my leading candidate. Just because not too many pieces were changed here. It's just that they started buying into what he was selling.

Jerry Sloan - amazing what he has done with the Utah team. He has instilled toughness and a great work ethic. They play hard every night and it shows. He even got all-star performances from AK47 (Andrei Kirilenko) every night.

Terry Porter - No one expected the Bucks to do anything this year. I mean no one. But here they are, sitting firmly on the 5th seed in the east. They blew away everyones low expectations and play well together.

Flip Saunders - Has gotten the team to play well together, after a shaky start, and are leading the ultra competitive midwest division. For him to win, I think the Wolves need to win the west, not just the division.

Ya, there are lot of choices for this award.

I'm glad that everyone agrees on one thing tho. KG for MVP. That man is solid.

My pick for ROY goes to LeBron. Here is why. He's a year younger than Melo. He has more of a load on his shoulders, hype and responsibility. His team isn't as good, but they are still playing well. And LeBron's numbers are better. The Cavs are currently sitting on the 6th seed in the east. If they can hold on and make the playoffs, hands down, he will win it.

Why do you say that like its the biggest joke? ROY has no clear winner, and give them 2 losses the Cavs ARE in the 10 spot. The Eastern Conference race is too close to blow off someones prediction, same with nuggets/jazz/blazers.

anyway I agree with makavelis standings but these are my awards:

            M.V.P. - KG easily
C.O.Y. - Hubie Brown, grizzlies first winning season
R.O.Y. - I'm going to be a [censored] and say they are co R.O.Y.
            M.I.P. - Zack Randolph
6th Man - Brad Miller if hes eligible, or Des Mason
            Exec - Zeke

I don't think Brad Miller is eligible. He started for more than half the season.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, I was just stating mine.

I think a Co-ROY award should be used this year. If not, then LeBron. IMO.
