    Mavericks D

It really is HORRIBLE! They just dont seem to even try half the time, Dirk cant do [censored] on the perimeter or the post. They never contest shots. I cant belive all the players are that bad, i think its........Nellies fault. They need a defensive minded coach, like a Van Gundy, to get this team to play D. I love Nelly, but this is riducolous, WTF do they practice?? WTF do they say when they watch tape?

I think Nellie needs and will be outta there if the team doesn't go far in the playoffs.

what do you expect dirk to do? he's 7 feet tall!

Part of the problem is players not knowing exactly what to do. Del Harris runs a tough version of the zone. The toughest in the league. Therefore, it takes a long time for the players to get used to it and get comfortable.

Part of it is just perception by nba fans. Last year people said they played horrible defense too, yet they set a franchise record in opponents fg %.

No dude, dirk blows on D on the perimeter AND the post. Yeah dude, hes 7 feet tall, block some shots or at least get in the way so the shooter has to adjust. That was a dumb comment. Anyways, you might be right about Del's Zone, but besides the Twans, these guys have played togther awhile and they are always week. I dunno, I just think they dont try, and another coach would bust their asses.

Defense is an attitude and they don't have that "i'm not gonna let you score on me" mentality. They suck. The Antoine Walker trade destroyed this team. They should have left the team intact from last year.
