I don't remember hearing anything that says he wouldn't be eligible.

Wasn't that the whole point of all of this? For him to join a team before the playoffs?

well the deadline to sign free agents and then still be eligible had passed, didn't know if he got an exemption because the judge overturned the NBA says no one else could sign him.
