12/3 - 12/9 Games Discussion Thread
It's like Melo forgets he can get his points. He doesn't need to force it.
Also that Melo and STAT PnR, I mean, the heck we have to wait three years for that?
I know someone is gonna say injuries. No. It wasn't injuries. They've been healthy together and couldn't figure it out. People been asking for them to run a two man game since they joined forces.
Funny enough, it took an interview asking Woodson why he doesn't have Stat go back to being the PnR big man. Woodson said: "we might have to explore it."
First game since, it happens. Woodson...dude. Really? Took someone else to ask?

One of the biggest things is that he does have a solid triple threat game. And he doesn't shoot like Dirk from behind his head. He kind of shoots the ball in front of him. Which is way too easy to block.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

I just don't understand why it's so hard to do this.

Better late the never right?
Really though it makes you wonder just what being a head coach entails. It really seems often times the most obvious things get pass an entire coaching staff. Yet so many hardcore fans of the sport(not just of a particular team) can spot the issues in only a handful of viewings. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: 12/3 - 12/9 Games Discussion Thread
Mixed feelings on last night's Knicks game. First off, the Nets are so horrific it's hard to get too excited about the win. I didn't think an NBA team could be much worse than the Knicks have been but the Nets proved me wrong last night.
- It was great to see energy and ball movement for the first time all season. The ball not sticking doesn't have anything to do with the opposition so it was nice to see.
- JR Smith seeing limited minutes and not taking bad shots was great to see - Woody is finally giving the Hardaway/Shumpert tandem a chance. Any time we can keep JR's minutes under 25 it's a good thing for the team.
- Carmelo looking to pass the ball. Six dimes - third time this year he's had more than four. We've won two, the other was the loss where Rose hit the floater to win. I don't understand why this is a once-in-a-blue-moon occurrence. We looked like a different team last night because Carmelo kept the ball moving and was a willing passer.
- Amare in the pick and roll. Like CMH mentioned, why we haven't tried putting Amare there more is mind-boggling. The only reason we ever stopped having him as the roll man was because of Chandler, but Chandler is obviously out. You might want to at least try a guy who's primary offensive strength is as the roll man to be, ya know, the roll man.
Stuff like that is why some fans/media that say coaching is not a problem with the Knicks need a reality check.
The downside of last night is that we're still a jumpshooting team. We won because so many shots were falling. Our last win before this was in ATL where our triples were falling like crazy. Now of course the flip side of the coin is that the ball movement leads to better shots and more rhythm shots which is why we made more jumpers.
Tonight will be very telling for this team. At home against bummy Orlando. Will we see a similar mindset to last night or will we go back to iso-heavy, bad shot-chucking offense?"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 12/3 - 12/9 Games Discussion Thread
Isn't it the craziest thing!? I've been wondering for about 3-4 years now. He show major flashes of OMG skills. I mean even last night seeing him pump fake KG and drive in a slam was Dirk-like.
One of the biggest things is that he does have a solid triple threat game. And he doesn't shoot like Dirk from behind his head. He kind of shoots the ball in front of him. Which is way too easy to block.
I guess consistency and a bad/average work ethic keeps him away from beeing that guy.
Looks like he's having a decent season though. 15points .470% field goal that's not too bad for a guy that takes a lot of jumpers. Just 1.3 apg and only 5rpg though.Last edited by Vni; 12-06-2013, 12:53 PM.Comment
