      12/3 - 12/9 Games Discussion Thread

That fan that walked onto the court in the ClippersCavs game makes me wonder how tight security really is.

It took way too long for security to do something. And even then they really had some dude looking like he could barely even run a mile having to grab dude away.

Just seems pretty horrible. Not sure how any NBA player isn't expressing concern.

If that guy had real intent to cause harm, Irving could have been seriously injured. Guy was able to tap Irving. That shouldn't come close to happening.

      Maybe it's just me.

What the hell is up with Cleveland's security though. I've been to several laker and clipper games at staples center and I honestly couldn't imagine some random fan being able to be on the floor for that amount of time. This is now the second time it's happened there hahahaha.

At the same time fans do this all the time at football and soccer games. So it is what it is, you can't prevent this full proof it is simply impossible. Good thing is they have metal detectors (I'm assuming at all nba arenas) so if anything fans wouldn't have much else to hurt the players than hands

Wouldn't say it happens all the time at NFL games now. Security there is pretty tight as far trying to get onto the field over even the bench area.

It's VERY easy for this to happen at NBA Arenas, especially if you're sitting Courtside where all you have to do is basically get up and you're already on the court. The only way you could curb this from happening is to basically have a glass wall of some sorts separating the fans from the court.

I know from going to Verizon Center and MSG in the last year, if I wanted to bring any sort of weapon in, I could've done it with no problem lol

            Re: 12/3 - 12/9 Games Discussion Thread

Yeah, you can't stop a fan from getting onto the court. That's understandable.

I just don't understand how a team had half of an offensive possession and the guy was even able to get back on "defense" before the play was stopped.

AND when the play was stopped, the referee was the one that held the fan. Then out of nowhere some old security guy comes scrambling as if he just remembered that fans shouldn't be on the court.

To me, I know possessions are important and you don't want to stop the game, but as soon as a fan hits the floor, security should be out there tackling the guy. Yes, tackling. You can't assume people have good intentions. I'm not saying you tase the guy, but he definitely should be stopped ASAP.

If tackling is excessive - and I understand how it could be - then you still have security there stopping the guy. The kid was on the floor for way way too long. That's the part that has me concerned. Is Security too busy watching the game? Not really their job.

Man, the Knicks run no plays at all.

Just so frustrating to watch. Guys just stand around and it isn't just because Melo is holding the ball. Guys just pick a spot and stay there.

I know this sounds reactionary to the situation, but Woodson isn't the coach for this team. They need a real tactician.

he is a great coach, and the team is actually loaded with young talent, just has to get them to gel and watch it get much better when rondo comes back

It's about midway through the third and the Celtics lead is nearly as much as the Knicks total points.
