Re: Don\'t Count Out The Nets
Everybody is hurt in the playoffs, I'm sick of hearing that being used as an excuse. You don't think K-Mart and Kidd were banged up for last year's playoffs? They were. And you're wrong about K-Mart scoring the majority of his points in transition. Most of his points were scored directly on Ben Wallace in the low post. I have to provide instances of Ben Wallace not being that good of a one on one defender, what instances are there of him shutting anybody down.Comment

Re: Don\'t Count Out The Nets
Being "banged up" in the playoffs from an injury that is still sore but occurred in December is quite a bit different than playing less than a month after a pretty bad knee injury.
I just hope you remember that injuries are no excuse after the playoffs this year, because Kidd and K-Mart have already started using that excuse after the Pistons handed them their asses.
You say Ben is overrated, Clay just asked why you think that. You point to a time when the guy couldnt even walk without a very noticable limp to prove he is overrated, completely ignoring how he playing K-mart during the season last year, and this years games. One series makes a guy overrated? Now that you have no other examples, so you ask for examples of him shutting someone down.
Like my father always told me when I was young, answering a question with a question only proves cluelessness. If you are going to make such a bold statement that the two time defensive player of the year is overrated, at least have something other than one series (in which said player was on one leg) as back up.Comment

I could start with a couple of these....
I guess I could also talk about little things like being one of only four players in NBA history to lead the league in rebounds and blocks during the same season (01-02) - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Walton, and Hakeem Olajuwon.
I guess averaging 1.8 steals per game as a PF who also defends Centers would also be a factor.
They also don't keep stats for altered, changed and rushed shots, which Ben does a lot of. As much or more than anyone in the league.
The point is, for every person you could find that would call Ben Wallace overrated, I would bet that I could find 40-50 that would disagree.Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!
