Whats funny about the blazers is that people thought theyd be fighting for a low seed. Yet we talked about a team like houston being a top seed, but on paper the blazers have just as much talent as houston, or at least close to as much talent as houston.

I think Robin Lopez was a much better fit for them than people imagined he would be. And LA has been playing MVP level basketball all season long. He's had games this season where he's just taken over. I think everyone knew he was good and among the best of the best big men in the league.. But I don't know if people really expected him to have these games where he just dominated like he has..
Adding Lopez might have been a big help with that as well. Playing along side Hickson teams were able to use their big guys on LA because Hickson is undersized.Comment

The problem with not having a good bench, and not being a good defensive team is that in the playoffs when you're playing huge minutes and tired and facing elite teams you're going to run into foul trouble. That's when its all going to be an issue. Those two things dont mesh.Comment

Still not seeing these Portland-2011 Dallas comparisons...#RespectTheCultureComment

I think people expected Dwight and Harden to be a little bit better than they've been this year, and Aldridge and Lillard seem like they've both taken a big step this year (no idea if the numbers support that, but it's seemed like it).
Personally, I didn't buy Houston as a top seed because they didn't really have a PF coming into the year, but Terrence Jones has done a pretty solid job.NFL: Bills

Do you think it hurts them that bad though? During the playoffs you expect your big time guys to play probably 38-42 minutes per game. So you won't really need bench guys who come in and play 20 minutes, just guys who are really productive with low minutes and make the most of them. I think that's what Portland has.
I think lack of experience and veteran leaders hurts them much worse than their bench. Because I really think their bench guys will be used very sparingly, only for quick breathers.. Other than Mo, and CJ if he keeps playing well.. Maybe Leonard just for rebounds and to use his fouls..
When it comes to championship teams, throughout history you'll see that a majority of them had exceptional benches.
I don't buy the "the bench doesn't play because the starters are so good". Wright and Robinson are two journeymen that no team has wanted. They've been fodder, so don't give me that b.s.they don't play a lot of minutes because they really aren't too dependable.

I can see them a bit. Best scorer is a big man who can play on the outside a bit. Center is a defensive/rebounding-minded guy, a lanky do-it-all kinda guy with Batum and a sharpshooter at the wing with Matthews. They also run a very similar offense to the Mavs of old, lots of 3 pointers going up, and that's because of Terry Stotts. They're also a team that isn't necessarily loaded with talent, and I think that's how a lot of people saw that Mavs team.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

Aldridge doesn't have the experience nor the skill that Dirk had, and Aldridge is an amazing player.
The comparisons don't make any sense except that they both liked to score from the outside. That's where it ends.Comment

That Mavs team had talent, come on now. Marion was still a much better defender than anyone currently is on the Blazers and that's probably still true to this day.#RespectTheCultureComment
