As for the 1st game, Marbury tried not to force anything. He's playing against the NETS, if he did try to do the things Jason Kidd can do with the Nets, the success rate would be much lower for him, since the Knicks are so slow to adapt, and it would allow the Nets far too many easy scoring opportunities.

Marbury just didn't play like he usually does. Some of the credit can go to NJs coaching, but Marbury didn't seem to want to go to the paint. Thats what you want to do against a team like NJ, because they're still young and very aggressive, so Marbs could draw alot of fouls, or find a man for the open shot. I just didn't think he did too much of it when given the opportunity.

Another area that is being overlooked, is that Frank simply outcoached Wilkens. What exactly did the Knicks do to adjust to NJs style, or to make NJ adjust to NYs style? The Nets threw half court traps at the Knicks, put the quicker and longer Kittles on Steph for most of the game, and forced them to take outside shots, which lead to easy fastbreak buckets.

From what I can tell in the first half, the Knicks didn't really seem to have any kind of gameplan coming into this game. The start of the game saw most of NYs baskets coming off of one on one matchups between Tim Thomas and RJ. Maybe a kick out here and there to Anderson or Hardaway, but other then that, I didn't notice many set plays called. Come second half and you would think Wilkens would make some kind of adjustments to limit the number of fastbreak points, but it only got worse for NY.

The boys will be ready tonight. Believe that. No idea where the offense is going to come from though. Time for someone to step up and be a hero tonight.

Hey, why not?? Houston is supposed to be back for a game 6, I say he runs out there for Game 3 on Thursday. Remember, Willis only scored 4 points in that game, but him playing through the pain gave his teammates an energy that they used to defeat the Lakers.

I'm sorry, but I don't think much of Houston at all. That guy is so one-dimensional. He spreads the floor with his shooting, but he doesn't command double teams, he doesn't board, he doesn't assist. I dunno how much energy he can bring his team.

On top of that, he's been out for a while, so his legs are probably not there yet. And he's got to incorporate himself back into their game.

To me, that's too many things for him to overcome for him to be effective or useful.

                        My personal opinion of course.

He is one-deminsional, but that is one deminsion that the Knicks really need on offense. Without him, no one respects our perimeter shooting at all. Even if he was out there in a cast and crutches shooting, the other team would have to respect him. If you leave him open, you are basically giving him a 3 point "layup". Without him, the Nets are daring Anderson and Hardaway to shot the ball, just absolutely daring him.
