don't know. The Knicks quit when they were down 13 early in the 4th. Luckily, they realized how stupid they were being and clawed back. I'm proud of them and with a training camp under their belt, 4 seed next season at the worst.

This series would be totally different if Allan "most overpaid player in professional sports" Houston played. God, Layden why did you have to be such an idiot?! Good job earning your paycheck Allan

It sure would. Any team that loses 35 points with two injured players (which happen to be there best jump shooters) would struggle for offense. The Hornets are missing one of their players (Mashburn) and are struggling. The Nets and their fans are acting like they are going toe-to-toe with a great squad. I don't want to hear about Marbury choking or not being a star. Every star has a sidekick or two in the playoffs. Marbury's happen to be hurt. You think Kidd could do it w/o Jefferson/Martin. No, cause he would just be double teamed all night just like marbury. What I can see from this series is heart. The knicks have played with heart but have run out of steam. Frank Williams, Mike Sweetney, and one of my new favorite knick's Penny have been playing their hearts out. The Knicks, much like the Nets, are not winning it all anyway. This knick team can take alot from this series into next year. It sucks to lose but sometimes you gotta lose and learn from it. This series has also done something else...It has given the knicks rivals again...No matter what, the knicks matter again...and will matter next year...

Good post. Stephon was trying to carry the load of a city on his back tonight, and its just impossible to do. NJ is a good team, and I knew from the getgo that their transition game would be difficult to beat. We've still got a few pieces left, but April 23rd, 2004 looks a hell of a lot better than April 23rd, 2003.

Totally agree. They'll add some players to the team next year, and publicly announce that Isiah is the head coach (he pretty much is now). They'll easily make the playoffs next year.

Rush Houston out there and then lose him for good?? then we would be like the Grizz haivng to pay Dickerson and Big Country for the next who knows how many years?
