    TNT,ESPN,ABC playoff coverage

What do you guys think of the pregame, halftime and post game shows for these channels?

I for one, think they're terrible. Out of all of the guys out there, Barkley, Stephen A. Smith, Byron Scott, Tolbert etc... the only two guys who have some sort of clue are Kenny Smith and Greg Anthony. They seem to be the only two guys who calm down and act professional long enough to add some insightful information. Does Stephen A. Smith or Tom Tolbert really come off as basketball gurus? Have you ever watched either of these two guys and learned something new? What in the world is Byron Scott's job exactly? Because this guy doesn't say anything more then what the average fan already knows. "The Knicks really need to come out and stop NJs fastbreak". Yeah no sh@t.

A few weeks ago on ABC, they did a little skit where Lambier, Greg Anthony and Smith stood in front of a makeshift kitchen with a pot on the stove. As they talked about each team, they added an ingredient into the pot. Lambier's recipe for the Spurs to win it all was very insightful. "A touch of Tony Parker and a big dose of Tim Duncan". Ummmm.....yeah.

I don't know how many of you actually watch the pregame shows, or don't change the channel at halftime, but if they covered the NBA anywhere close to CBS' coverage of the NCAA tourny, it would be 10x better. At least the CBS guys know what they're talking about, and don't talk and argue like high schoolers. TNT's halftime coverage will start with Kenny Smith making some kind of sense, and giving his thoughts on what each team did during the first half, but talk about the game ends once Barkley opens his mouth. After 4 minutes of him flapping about the refs or Ernie Johnson's suit, he'll throw in 30 seconds of basketball talk.

The basketball guys for all of three networks pretty much suck.

I agree. I can't stand Tolbert and Stephen "MY LAKERS" Smith. My Lakers?? wtf.

Anthony is one of the best IMHO.

I've really been a fan of the way Sky Sports in the UK covers their sports. While talking about the game in the studio, the TV behind them shows the crowd coming into the stadium, the team in the tunnel, the pregame stuff.

I know it would mean less commercials, but let us see the player introductions, national anthem, maybe the team in the tunnel gathering that one last time as a team.

Today's coverage is so damn boring that I probably watched my last game with the Knicks being done. The coverage just doesn't make me believe its a big deal. Sorry, playing "Who we be" during the exit to commercial doesn't pump me or make me intriqued.

I actually like Stephen A. Smith, Bill Walton, Tom Tolbert, Charles Barkley, and Doc Rivers. The one person that I hate listening to is Al Michaels. He's a great football announcer, but a horrible basketball announcer.

Bring back the NBA on NBC!!!

What I hate is that during halftimes on TNT, seems like Charles and the gang will talk for about 2 minutes and then commercials come on. Then they repeat the process until the 3rd quarter starts.

Seems like the majority of time spent on the halftime show is due to commercial time.
