Solid team for that time, but that team would not compete with the Mavs teams from the past few years.

    Though Finley I enjoyed watching.

I'm not dissing their dynasties, especially what he Spurs have done.. But there is not doubt the past 8 or so seasons teams have had LOADS more talent from top to bottom.. This has ZERO to do with Maimi?

I disagree. Those teams were just as good as todays teams. Sacramento and Dallas especially back then.

The extreme late 90's and early 2000's is unanimously recognized as the weakest point in league history.. It's not like I'm saying anything that everyone hasn't already heard.

NBA scheduling is stupid. Spurs-Mavs game happens at 7pmEST while Raptors-Nets is at 8pmEST? Doesn't it make way more sense having Raptors-Nets starting at 7pmEST?Especially for the obvious fact that this schedule means it's 6pm local start time for the Spurs-Mavs and 8pm local start time for Raptors-Nets....

I'd like to have seen the schedule had Heat played game 5 lol.

Come on man, Mike Bibby would be the worst guard in today's West playoffs and Peja would be the worst primary perimeter scorer in today's West playoffs.. Webber is the sole All-Star talent that team had.

Bibby would be worse than Beverly/Lin? Nostalgia? Worse than Caulderon? Was it nostalgia that Peja finished with MVP votes? Stop pulling things out of your behind man.

The 2000's are looked down upon because it came after the golden age. The 80's and 90's will forever be remembered in high esteem. But when you look back at those years you can poke holes in the competition as well.

Getting back to the main point, the Heat's road to the finals will be relatively uneventful. Not their fault, just facts.

The fact that Peja even received MVP votes answered your questions.

But yes back on topic, we are extremely off topic right now.

That year it was: KG, Duncan, Shaq and Kobe... Peja, who finished ahead of Kobe/Shaq. What are you saying man.

Again you're talking out of your behind.

That kings team is a 7 or 8 seed first round elimination by SA or OKC.. Peja should never be mentioned anywhere close to MVP votes or All-NBA teams, and definitely wouldn't in today's league. Chris Webber is the only elite player that team had, nearly every playoff team worthy of contention for the ship in today's league has 2-4 of them. The benches were beyond horrible..

Wait a minute....when did the friggin discussion turn into how teams from the 90's/00's would fair against the Heat in this year's playoffs? I could have sworn the discussion was about how tough was the road for those Laker and Spurs teams AT THAT TIME. Not how the friggin '00 Blazers would do against '14 Miami LOL

Yeah, but I'm talking about in the context of the discussion that was going on. The point was about did the Lakers, Bulls, Spurs have as easy a road to a three peat as the Heat are lining up to have. Yet somehow we're talking about teams from that era being an eighth seed in this year's playoffs and how they'd get worked by this year's Miami and all this. That's a totally different discussion.

I wasn't the one who tried to bring up Miami.. All I was saying is that it was relatively easy for those Laker and Spurs teams because they were the only two teams who had multiple star players.. Like today's league, like the 80s/90s..
