We really gonna do this BTH? You're one of the good Heat fans man.

    A. This is game 1 of the first round and they were down what 20 at that point as opposed to the Heat being down four points with 28 seconds left.

    B. This is game 1 of the first round. Heat fans did it in the friggin FINALS. The FINALS.

I knew they were bad last year, but only 15th this year? That's nuts. I'm assuming this is a record for the #1 seed. Has to be.

Disclaimer: I do not agree with the Heat fans who left in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, however, this does not mean all Heat fans are bad fans.

I also do not agree with blasting the Heat fanbase because of those fans leaving.

This was a sarcasm-implied picture posted on a Heat forum.

Yeah. I just realized he finished with 24 points, 10 boards, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks lol.

As far as your earlier post, like I said he's certainly dropped off. He's not the player he was in Nov/Dec but at this point I think we just need to accept that this is who he is. IMO he's not playing much different than he did earlier in the year, he's just not hitting those shots as effectively as he was before. I still think he needs to learn how to attack the basket more often though. He's not the best ball handler, but he's good enough at it to not settle for contested j's all day long. It's fine when he's hitting them, but most of the time now he's not.

Anyway as far as this game tonight, don't really know what to say. If this continue it's gonna be probably the worst collapse ever. I'm level headed enough to wait until the next game, but I feel like I've been doing that for too long now...

No offense z, but I want Atlanta to win this series now. Just so this can officially be worse than us losing to Philly as the one seed a couple years ago. At least Derrick AND Jo went down for that to happen. This would be epic. Especially with all the talking the Pacers have done since losing to Miami last year.

It's pretty bad. I'd say Indianapolis is comparable to Portland population-wise, yet Portland is 5th in attendance.

How exactly is attendance measured? Is it by number of tickets sold or actual number of people in the seats? Does it give teams that play in a smaller arena than another team an advantage?

Great questions.. I have no idea. But I've also never really thought about it, or paid much attention to the people in the stands.

I never knew that CHI/PHI series was looked at as that bad though. To me it was understandable considering the injuries. The Pacers losing to the Hawks would be FARRRRR worse than that.

Measured by people who use the tickets, I believe. Not like baseball where they just count tickets sold. I'm not 100% on this tho, I can't find sources one way or the other.

You can see the average attendance as a percentage of total capacity to nullify arena size. Pacers are 12th in this regard.

I know they always scan tickets at the gate, so I'm sure it's actual attendance rather than just tickets sold.

I'm guessing the fact that the Bulls/Mavs are at 103.9/8% is because they play in two of the biggest arenas in the NBA? Mainly because the teams below them are at 100%.

There's standing-only sections that aren't counted in total capacity, but are counted in attendance. For example, the Mavs have a 2,000-person capacity for the standing sections. So the number of people at the game is higher than the number of seats in the arena.
