Hibbert is in the playoffs playing for a contender. What else does he need to be motivated. He just seems like he ain't that strong mentally.

Re: 2014 Eastern Conference Playoffs -1st Round Discussion Thread
If not for this recent slump he likely would've gotten it. He had that award on a stranglehold in January. Obviously though you can't discount the last month or 2 so no he doesn't deserve it, but I wouldn't go telling him that because he probably believes he does just like he thought he got robbed last year.
And mvb, how is he not mentally weak? Have you seen him play? Dude puts his head down the second he fails to get a rebound and then goes and pouts on the bench. The fact that ANDREW BYNUM of all players had to give this guy a little speech in the 4th quarter against Atlanta just for him to play like he cares tells you a lot.Last edited by z Revis; 04-21-2014, 02:35 PM.Indianapolis Colts

I think consistency means more than playing defense for half a season man if it was even half a season and im not so sure there was that tight of a grip on it. I mean its a season away not an award given in 3 months.Comment

This league does a lot of head scratching things. Not as bad as Goodell and "The Shield" but close enough.
From October-January, he was pretty much the consensus choice from most of the people that vote for the award. But of course, that's why regular season accolades outside of Weekly/Monthly awards are given in January. Unless your issue is just with the word selection then nevermind this post.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 04-21-2014, 03:02 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

What was even the purpose of them doing that?

Re: 2014 Eastern Conference Playoffs -1st Round Discussion Thread
Who knows..it's not like it's game 6 or 7 where one of the scheduled teams to play is no longer playing so they switched around times for other games.
3 east games tomorrow shouldn't happen. Scheduling wise now, Bulls-Wizards game at 9:30pm sucks. An eastern conference playoff game that's gonna be ending past midnight(for Wizards fans) even without overtime, and in the middle of the week. They should've had a west team play at 10pm and then 1 of the 3 east games on Tuesday happens on Monday or something.Comment

Noah deserves it though. Hibbert deserves nothing except maybe a benching soon. I'm just saying maybe losing out again will get him going although don't ask me why he'd need losing an award to motivate him.Indianapolis Colts

Whether he deserved it or didn't deserve it it's something Roy takes pride in, it's something he's said he wanted, and he feels he's deserving I'm sure.. So whether any of us really thinks he's deserving or not doesn't really matter.. Maybe it fires him up, maybe it hurts his feelings and he plays worse, who knows? Either way I'm fairly positive Noah winning the award is at least going to be in his head.

Blame it on ESPN. Apparently one of the ESPN people plugged in their equipment on the same power source that the game/shot clocks run through.

There's multiple different sports/events that occur at ACC on a regular basis which are broadcasted on multiple networks and nobody ever has any problems, it's just ESPN messing up because they've never done a game in Toronto before it seems like.Comment

Thanks for the info. The NBA is so freakin' screwy when it comes to their scheduling.

Later, the the Raptors did another 180, suggesting that ESPN was NOT to blame. Cathal Kelly of the Toronto Star tweeted...
Raptors rumour control: Officials clarified today that ESPN is not to blame for frying the shot clocks. ACC takes the hit. MLSEa culpa.
