The guy is a first-year head coach. Getting his team into the playoffs, when RILEY couldn't for the past few seasons, is pretty impressive, IMHO.

Lamar Odom totally turned his career around this year due to Stan Van Gundy and Pat Riley and he did it in Miami of all places. Caron Butler struggled due to hip surgery Eddie Jones got hooked up to the rejuvination machine and Brian Grant is a horrendously undersized center (hes listed at 6'9 but really hes like 6'7ish) and is making an insane amount of money. With this said i think SVG is 1 helluva coach. Pat Riley must have saw something in him if he picked him to succeed him as the coach of HIS Miami Heat. They did not underachieve for gods sake they were still rebuilding and an up and coming young team.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"
