I really think those two will play together when KD is a free agent in two years. Wouldn't be shocked if LeBron makes that happen. The Buzz is Back in the Queen City. Cho........I have no idea what you are going to do in this draft man.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I'm sorry but anybody following bucher yes bucher around for news is desperate.
dude hasn't had anything credible some before David Aldridge worked at ESPN.
He's probably laughing that people would still even bother following him knowing he had no sources so thanks for giving him his 5 minutes of fame.
You know good and we'll anybody going to Miami won't be a secret only reported by a noob. Throw fact checking and non first to break news out the door and he's still nowhere in the picture.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I would say that there's no chance LeBron and KD team up, but then again half the **** that happens in this godforsaken league anymore had no chance of happening.
With them opting out likely leading to all 3 comin back, the Hornets are going to have 2nd in the division as our ceiling for the rest of the decade or more.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
It's a pretty low risk move since Chandler is only on the books for next year and we know Dirk's remaining window of opportunity is small, if it even exists at all anymore.
Chandler was absolutely awful in the postseason during his time in NY though.
17 games
5.8 ppg
7.8 rpg
1.2 bpg
50% FG
Regular season during his three years in NY...
10.2 ppg
10.1 rpg
1.2 bpg
64%
That is an enormous drop off. He should perform a little better though now that he's outside of the dumpster fire that is the Knicks.
I hope you enjoy watching Felton though.
The Mavs defensive scheme hasn't changed since he left they still switch everything on the perimeter trying to funnel the ball inside towards a big.
That is where TC is great with help defense....Him and Dirk had great chemistry during that title season.
It's also not a forgone conclusion that Felton starts at PG with D.Harris likely to return. Carlisle has his ways of getting players to perform and buy into the program so Felton will have every opportunity to challenge Harris but if he doesn't get with the program he could find himself not only playing behind Harris but Ellis would eat up minutes at PG.
If I'm the Mavs and I wanted to build a similar team to the 2011 title team I would target Ariza at SF and S.Livingston at PG.
I think Ariza gives you that length and defensive versatility on the perimeter very similar to Marion and Livingston gives you that big PG you can switch defensively onto bigger wing player much like Kidd while Ellis defends the lesser backcourt threat similar to how they utilized Terry.
I know Cuban is going to go for the home run signing (Melo/LBJ) but I think the Mavs have a better shot of signing two solid starters with that money and some more bench depth (backup C/PF).
Would love to see them go into next year with this lineup/rotation
PG-Livingston/Harris/Felton
SG-Ellis/Carter/Ricky Ledo
SF-Ariza/Crowder
PF-Dirk/Wright
C-Chandler/E.Okaor (If healthy would be a solid backup for TC)Last edited by Playmakers; 06-28-2014, 01:57 AM.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Andre Miller-Wizards News
From Michael Lee of the Washington Post:
If the Wizards let Sunday’s deadline pass without requesting waivers, the team will guarantee his contract for $4.6 million next season. A league source with knowledge of the team’s thinking said the Wizards are “leaning in that direction.” …
The Wizards could have bought out Miller for $2 million and had more money under the salary cap as they approach free agency. But with Miller returning, the Wizards would have six players under contract — Wall, Bradley Beal, Nene, Martell Webster and Otto Porter — combining for almost $46 million in salaries.

Is Porter playing this season? They're bringing Rice Jr up too aren't that?

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
If Ariza walks, then it's likely Porter will play this year and so would Rice, especially with Webster being out until January after injuring his back this week.#RespectTheCultureComment

Ethan J. Skolnick @EthanJSkolnick · 1h As I've been reporting, Haslem -- now that he's opted out -- is open to extension with Miami. Wants to be here. Wheels in motion.
Ethan J. Skolnick @EthanJSkolnick · 3h As mentioned here previously, once Wade & Bosh opt out, expect Haslem to take 3 years for $8-9M to clear another $1.5-1.9M in space.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I have to say, I really disliked the Miami Heat for awhile (since I usually root for the underdogs, not the superpowers), but the fact that they are all opting out and trying to stay together, taking less money just to try to win, that's pretty nice to see. It shows a passion for winning that you don't always see. I hope they all stay together and improve the team along the way.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Yeah UD's gonna get taken care of. Takes a big man to opt out of nearly $5 million when you're 34 and your role is only 10 minutes a game. He's gonna get low money for the cap space but Miami's gonna take care of him when he retires.Fan of:
