Well alright. If this free agency is legit and he's not already made up his mind to take his talents to South Beach, then I'm gonna need us to not let him leave the building. Get it done guys.

Carmelo Anthony is planning to meet with the Chicago Bulls in Chicago on the opening day of free agency after the NBA's offseason market officially opens Tuesday at 12:01 a.m., according to sources familiar with Anthony's plans.

Sources told ESPN.com that Anthony is in the process of arranging a trip to Chicago to meet with the Bulls, then intends to travel to Texas for Wednesday meetings with both the Houston Rockets and the Dallas Mavericks.

Im not a bulls fans, but i must say, I think it would be good for the league and the east if melo goes to chicago. Plus i really like this bulls team in general and think that if they could add melo, have rose stay healthy when it matters most, keep some some role players like augustin and gibson, they could be a threat to put up 100 plus and hold you to 90 or under. We might have a new bulls dynasty on our hands if melo makes the smart decision to go to chi town. Hopefully mcbuckets and mirotic turn out as well.

How will the Suns make an offer to Melo or Lebron if they don't have meetings scheduled?

not sure how a superstar joining one of the top teams is "good" for the conference. if anything they need him to stay in NY or go to a fringe playoff team to create more parody so its not mia vs indy for the next 4 years

Its good for the conference because, miami and indy are the only good teams, with chicago getting melo it would add a third contender. The east is already weak, and the bulls and knicks staying the same won't make them contenders. At this point both teams would just have to get really hot in order to beat indy or miami in a playoff series. if melo goes to chicago, a 3rd team can be in true contention and be a threat to knock off both teams.

If his goal is to win a title he should join chicago if he wants to be on a fringe playoff team he can just stay in ny.

Scratching my head a few hours later and I'm not getting it.

So, the new owners are trying to make a splash and convince the fans/tax payers to build a new arena within three years that the NBA mandated.

Would you like to sell that idea to those people with Larry Drew as coach or a former HOF(will be shortly) player who is now a coach and took his team in his first year as a head coach vs the Heat in the playoffs?

If Melo goes to Chicago though, there's another team that could compete with Miami and Indiana for the next several years. If he stays in NY, they will most likely not have a chance against those guys in the playoffs.

that wasnt my point. he was talking about what is good for the conference itself, not melo

also, not convince the bulls need melo to compete with miami or indy.. not saying they would beat them in a series (well, yea theyd beat indy) but they would be competitive

going to the extreme here, say melo goes to the hornets. that would benefit the conference FAR more than if he ends up in chicago

So you think the Bulls could compete with Miami if they keep the roster as is? They damn near got swept by the Wizards this year.
Melo to the Hornets would be cool though, especially if Al stays healthy. But, we know this most likely won't happen.

I guess i just don't agree. To me, indy and miami keep throwing a party without inviting anyone else to it, with melo on chicago, chicago has the power to crash the party and kick these two teams outta there own house. For me to see melo go to another bottom feeder team would be the same as him going to another knicks team. Yea they might make an entertaining series with indy or miami, but would still ultimately lose, same with chicago the way there constructed, even with a healthy rose. But add rose and melo together and you get, well, the analogy i used at the beginning of this post should sum it up. To me its better to have more contenders than bottom feeder teams who upgrade a little just to be a warm up for the top teams. Though the thought of melo going to the hornets is interesting, i still think the way chicago is constructed, they'd be more of a contender than a melo led hornets team. But that hornets team would still be very interesting to see imo.

as is is rough but get rid of boozer and give taj starter minutes, rose healthy, snell actually develops some and buckets just gives them 10 solid minutes per game yea i do think they can.

lets not forget many people have the bulls in the finals pre rose injury

melo to the hornets is probably my #1 wish for this offseason right now. i cant explain why but id just love to see it. (it was lebron to leave miami but thats 99% not happening)
