again, not his job, but you have Kobe, Dirk, Bron out there selling their respective franchises....those guys have 8 rings between them...they don't have to "kiss ***"
Who says he isn't apart of the process though? For all we know he'll be in the office when the meeting happens tomorrow because the team asked him to be there. For all we know, he may have recorded a message talking about the team in a video package they'll show Melo.

Does he need to start calling him everyday or every other day to qualify as being apart of the process?

Who has LeBron recruited? Colluding 3 years prior while he was on another team to play with two other superstars? A situation like that sells itself to role players. Ray Allen came and was a bench guy after he told Boston, he didn't want to be a bench guy lol

      When has Kobe recruited anyone?

Besides Parker & Diaw they already know each other. Again, there is a difference between calling somebody u got on speed dial and recruiting somebody you barely know.

And regarding the other "superstars" you mentioned...dirk isnt a superstar, and its only a matter of time before Kobe breaks down. Neither one of them are near as valuable as the stars they are trying to recruit. Maybe Rose isn't either but he still has plenty of years left and doesnt need to resort to desperation tactics....yet.

Now your just splitting hairs though...and acting like stars being involved in recruitment just started in 2010 with LeBron James....and that all of free agency revolves around LeBron James circle...lol @ "desperation move"...

It isn't the players job to recruit regardless. If they want to do it, then fine. But Rose said he's a great player and respects his game and left it that. Not sure what else people are looking for. It should be the front offices job to do those types of things.

It doesn't matter anyway because Melo ain't coming.

I am better than that I guess, because I didn't say anything about Cleveland...

We can save all the Bron theories for his thread...just forget i mentioned him...and save us from discussing this for the 1000 time..

and I agree, it isn't Rose's job, nor am I mad at him,..I can just see people's side of it...

Just saying, you can't make an argument for him being a recruiter, when the first 7 years of his career, he didn't recruit anyone. That isn't really a theory. Multiple big FAs around that time said he would never give them an indication that he was going to be there.

Ray Allen himself said Brons pitch was the nail in the coffin
Pretty sure it was easy to sell a situation like Miami after those 3 got there.

I'm pretty sure James' pitch was the 2012 ECF. If you can't beat em, join em right?

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA · 7h Possibility of getting Bucks 1st-round pick for Kidd is remote. Several sources believe deal gets done in 24 hours w/ a 2nd rounder, or two.

Bucks ownership masking this as a coach hiring, but belief is that it's just matter of time until Kidd has full control in Milwaukee.

One strong candidate for that $15M-plus of fresh salary cap space in Atlanta, league sources tell Yahoo: Free agent forward Luol Deng.

To be clearer on the Hawks cap space, Deng could be a part of it -- by no means all of it. Market for him in $10-$12m annual range.

No he's not a superstar anymore. He's definitely still a star caliber player but not a superstar. No disrespect to him though. His 2011 finals was one of the most amazing superstar performances I've ever seen.

It's easy to sell a situation like Miami. Guys are fighting each other off to be a role player there.

I'm pretty sure James' pitch was the 2012 ECF. If you can't beat em, join em right?
Well, we weren't discussing how easy of a sell any situation was though, and if it was such an easy sell, Bron shouldn't of even had to show up right? That's kind of my point...

I'd be shocked if Kidd doesn't have full control within 2 years.

And if all they're going to offer is a 2nd, I would just pass and give Kidd the Lawrence Frank treatment.

What a joke he's become in a matter of days because of this.

Ray still had to take less money to go there, and its not like staying in Boston wasn't a legitimate option at the time. I believe he was involved in convincing Battier to come over too. Cleveland he didn't recruit anybody, and he took criticism for that.

Kobe tried to get Dwight to stay and he's going to be involved in the Melo meeting.

King, if he is a part of the process, than he's doing what I would want him to do if I were a Bulls fan. Just based on his comments though now and 2010, I'm guessing he won't be, but we'll find out tomorrow.
