Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I believe he's restricted, though I'm not sure. I think they were saying they wanted to keep him but if the price was too high they would move him in a S&T.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
He's restricted. He would have to be moved in a sign and trade before he signs an offer sheet. Once he signs an offer sheet with someone, he can no longer be signed and traded.NFL: Bills

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
i keep seeing stories with veteran names like Lowry, Deng, Marion, etc. to the Heat and I'm not feeling that at all.
IMO I just want the Heat to add youth and athleticism. Just give me some young guys that can run and jump and LBJ can make them look a whole lot better.
I actually would love to raid the Lakers. I would take any combo of Meeks, Henry, Hill, Bazemore or Wes Johnson. Mike Scott, Patrick Patterson, Ed Davis, or Patty Mills are also intriguing.
I want young guys that can use success in Miami as a springboard to getting a huge payday somewhere else.
I'm all for youth, the only problem is they need guys who are comfortable with being a 7th-9th or so scoring option, someone who won't shut down in big finals games against the best defenses, and someone who understands his role and wants to make their defense better. It's just so hard to find that in the young guys.
I'm completely 100% for them getting Ed Davis, or Jordan Hill. But based on what they did last year and their age, I highly doubt they go cheap enough to Miami. Both were big recruits out of college who are just now hitting their strides, they could realistically have a breakout year within a couple seasons, if Miami got one of them for cheap it would be huge. IMO.
I've been wanting Meeks for months, he's an ideal Wade sub. But some team will probably overpay for him to be a volume scorer. He's a prototypical 6th man mold, and when he got hot this past year it was points in a hurry.
Problem with guys like Johnson and Henry is they aren't great shooters at all. They can get out and run, and Miami is great on the break when they are forcing turnovers. But when they aren't they play among the slowest paced teams in the league. If you can't shoot you usually aren't a good fit.
Mike Scott isn't bad, I really wish they would sign Ivan Johnson though. He might be off everyone's radar after playing overseas, and if he can be grabbed at a good price I think he's basically everything Haslem is, but young and improving.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Its like people just forget about these things. No one should really be surprised about Jason Kidd doing shady things behind people's backs.
It was especially funny because his reasoning for going to New York was wanting to mentor Jeremy Lin.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Am I the only one laughing at the fact that Riley's master plan to improve is to sign hilariously old Luol Deng or hilarious bust Marvin Williams?
Also, very interested in seeing how quick Melo goes and where Gortat goes. Gortat is one of my favorite big guys in the NBA, is about to get seriously paid.Too Old To Game Club
