As for the Bulls' bench, doesn't really matter all that much with that lineup. Miami's bench isn't really anything to write home about, but when you have players the caliber of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade in your lineup playing 35+ minutes, you can afford to have less than stellar players making up a bench. Besides that, Tony Snell will fill Jimmy's defensive role once he's gone and I think Noah and Thibs could help Love and Melo's defensive efforts ton. Unlike Boozer, I think they're players that DO want to be better defensively.

I'm with you on that last part.. A lot of Melo's defensive issues is consistent effort.. He can play pretty good man defense when he wants to. He gets lost in a team defensive scheme but that's a lot easier to fix that just having a man defense liability, like Steve Nash or something..

I Love being a "bad" defender is a little overblown anyways.. I think he knows his limitations. He knows he isn't really long, or really athletic. He knows he isn't going to block a lot of shots or hedge out of super quick guards, or ever be quick enough to gamble on passing lanes.. I think he actually does a decent job of getting himself into position and at least challenging a shot. Knowing he isn't going to block the shot he just plays the miss, and 9 out of 10 times the rebound is his..

Playing on a better defensive unit like Chicago, with Noah, will keep more athletic guys from constantly attacking at him.. Which should make his defensive liabilities a lot less noticeable.

He can't. He's way too inconsistent. I still think he's a top 5 guard when healthy.

I don't think he's bad. Bad defenders are never in the right position, don't know when players are cutting, can't get in help, poor defensive IQ, etc.. I don't think that's Love.

I think he's just limited athletically, and doesn't have intangibles like insanely long arms that most guys at his position do.. Therefor he isn't going to block a lot of shots, or things like I mentioned before..

I think he actually does a decent job of getting in position and putting himself in spots to challenge a shot. A lot of times it doesn't matter because guys know he can't block them even when he gets there, nobody is intimidated by his presence, but a lot of times he does just enough to force a miss which in return he almost always gets the rebound.

              Gotcha OJ.

Also agree with your description in regards to Bad Defenders because I think that's a label that gets thrown around and attached to players too easily.

I would throw lazy in his description as well. Like Carlos Boozer. We can agree it's not thrown around easily with him right?

Celtic fans overrate Rondo, while Nationally he's underrated. He's somewhere in between imo.

Also last healthy Rondo was incredible from Midrange, I believe he was in the top of the league from there. He's not good at 3s but that's not a big deal.

Oh yeah. I think he's gotten worse here though. I haven't seen a ton of him in Utah, but I don't remember him being this damn bad.

Very, very long shot scenario? Noah's recruiting convinces Melo to sign for about 14-15 million after using the amnesty on Boozer and shipping out Dunleavy, Bulls then trade Taj, Jimmy Butler, the rights to Mirotic and a pick or two for Love.

Minny would be crazy if they don't trade Love for DLee. Lee has single handedly turned the Warriors into a 50 win team and could easily do the same to the Wolves.........*cough*
