    Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

Jack was a cancer as their 6th man last season so he needs to be moved. If not in this trade then in another.

Not sure how much Indy wants to go after a starting caliber SG unless they are for sure Lance isn't coming back. They had enough chemistry issues last year, they aren't going to get someone who'll be a chemistry issue because of a bench role. IMO.

Free agent Boris Diaw has reached agreement on three-year, $22M deal to return to Spurs, sources tell Yahoo. Partial guarantee on 3rd year.

I'd do Waiters + Andy if I was Cleveland. They plan on using Wiggins as a SG so use Jack as your 6th.
Waiters and Andy is too much value going back Indiana's way. If this was Roy Hibbert from before the All-Star break, sure. Of course if that were the case Indy would probably laugh at that offer. But Roy after the All-Star break and postseason? Nah.

Honestly I didn't watch very many games last season, but I feel like Jack deserves another year. He's been productive everywhere else he's been and I feel like it was just a case of a bad season among the whole team.

It's so tough to find something realistic because Indy has no other big man. Whatever trade they make has to land them a staring caliber big, or enough cap to sign one.

I'm trying to think of 3 team trades where Indy gets Asik.

NO would probably do it straight up if Indy would take back Gordon's contract.

Farmar to the Clips? Not a bad replacement for Collison.

                      Even with Diaw coming back:

With Diaw's return set, the Spurs will continue their pursuit of free agent Pau Gasol with an offer of their midlevel exception, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

I could see the Bucks throwing something out with Sanders involved, he desperately needs a change of scenery IMO.

If Lance doesn't come back Portland might be in for something like Lopez and Wes Matthews?

Teams like Boston, LAL, New York seem like the most likely spots to make a move and bring him in.. I'm just not sure any of them have anything to offer.

Indy won't make a move unless they get value back, they'll want to stay among the top of the East.

I really like the Famar move. I think he can offer everything Collison did, without trying to do "too much" on the offensive end. We'll see!

For some reason I always pictured Hibbert going to the Celtics. I feel like that would be one of the most likely spots for him to land. The Bird/Ainge connection helps as well, of course.

Yall give Collison a bad wrap man.. he did really well as their backup and filled in great when Paul went down.. he got overpaid badly by Sacramento though lol

Collison definitely had one of those contract type years last season
