Yeah defense would be an issue probably. They'd definately need a young and defensive minded pg but if they imo if they make the playoffs they'd make noise. IF healthy. Definately.

Anyway winning is obviously not the only thing that matters to Anthony or he would have ruled out the Knicks already.

Melo can't be this stupid. This has to be either typical ESPN nonsense or he's trying to leverage the Knicks into doing a sign and trade with the Bulls. I just can't see the logic in leaving the Knicks to go to the Lakers which are basically two identical situations. Even if they somehow traded for Love to start the year or at the deadline, they'll STILL be a 6-8 seed in the west and get curb stomped in the first or second round provided Kobe even makes it to the playoffs. He's already missed the last two years of postseasons (though he'd have missed this year's even if he was healthy).

        Oh well. Wierd.

Don't think Josh Rebholz would lie though.

The fact that things like this have to be reported....I can't say it bothers me that much, but lets just say I really wish this wasn't the case. You don't see this kind of **** in any other sport.

If Lance doesn't come back Portland might be in for something like Lopez and Wes Matthews?

Teams like Boston, LAL, New York seem like the most likely spots to make a move and bring him in.. I'm just not sure any of them have anything to offer.

Indy won't make a move unless they get value back, they'll want to stay among the top of the East.

I would take Sanders if he could get his head on straight. He makes Lance look like a model citizen lol.

Lopez and Matthews isn't too bad though. I'd bet Portland would ask for someone else. Maybe Scola? Copeland? I'd consider it if we lost Lance. At the least we'd shed salary with that move and still likely remain a top team.

In the end though unless Bird strikes a deal where we are definitely upgrading(unlikely), I don't think it's worth it to trade Roy yet. I'd rather just hopefully resign Lance and give it another go with this core. If it doesn't work next year then alright let's make some changes.

I hate how some franchises can be absolute trash, and make awful decisions, yet because they are in a prime market, they can just pull in a superstar FA.

Yeah well I can see that. Anyway it definately not mean Anthony is gonna come to L.A.

But it's interesting that maybe Anthony has a better idea on what kind of health Kobe is right now. It doesn't mean he's gonna sign with the lakers but depending on what he saw imo he could have definately ruled the lakers out.

I won't knock him for signing back with NY, but if he truly wants to win go to Chicago or Dallas. These two teams have something neither LA or Houston has, great coaches and defensive schemes that work.

Dallas does so much iso with Dirk I kind of feel like he and Melo would clash. Dallas should go all out for Ariza/Deng and a veteran PG instead.

I feel like a lineup of Monta, Ariza/Deng, Dirk, and Chandler with a decent PG could contend if healthy.

Disagree, Dirk is an unselfish guy and capable of working off ball and Carlisle surely would incorporate more sets in the offense to fit the players. Melo would also ease some of the load off Dirk and allow him to rest more.

Not like he's going there but I'd take that over taking turns iso ball between him and harden, along with the shot clock eating Dwight will do in the post.

Makes me wonder why none of these insiders ever know what's really going on.

I mean obviously I don't care if the Mavericks ever make it out the playoffs ever again because they're in my division but at the same time I wonder how much is it guys not wanting to go there or is there something about Cuban people don't know.
