Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
We'll see. This free agency is just so odd. Its not like LeBron or Melo is going to just any team yet they're all pandering. Its getting kind of wackComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
There we go. The original report I read was: "Bosh tells Houston he wants to play with Miami and LeBron". Seemed like an odd thing.. lolComment

Also, Frye was 10th in the NBA last year in RPM at 5.08 and 14th in WAR at 10.82

Im not a stat guy and can barley tell you what those stats mean but just about everyone in front of him in both categories are all starsLast edited by fatleg3; 07-08-2014, 01:54 AM.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
The Bulls had a need and a certain amount of money to fill it. Much like the Spurs need that they filled with Boris Diaw... equally laughable when made. People need to stop chasing name guys. Stats are based on talent and situation. Rip and Dunleavy were put in positions to do more than they should've needed to on that team (what happens with injuries they've had). People joke the Heat for starting Rashard Lewis (myself included) but that was a finals team.
And if you've been in here, you'd know that I have denounced our pursuit of Carmelo on multiple occasions
Bottom line is, looking at the 2013 stats of the FA list, sorting from best to worse, and then trying to sign from top down is not necessarily the best way to build a team or address needs.Last edited by JODYE; 07-08-2014, 08:54 AM.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
How's Granger on the defensive end? Can he hold his ground against the team's best and second leading scorer? And is he able to knock the open 3 with consistency? Battier was just brutal watching last season- Aside from that Game 7 Finals outing in 2013, the guy has been on a shooting slump for almost 2 years.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
A good defensive system can make a horrible defender average at best so I think Granger will be OK in that regard.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Granger in no way can be worse than Battier or Beasley but at the same time the Heat in no way should depend on Granger for much since he's always hurt (and just not the same player after the injuries). He was invisible to end the year with the Clippers because he was hurt...Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I personally don't believe so. I've never considered Miami an elite defensively sound team. Really, once you get past opponent PPG, they aren't that impressive.
I don't think they will make Granger look any better than he is now.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Does anyone think that the reason Carmelo hasn't made his decision by now, is the fact that he's waiting for MIA? He said he would give a decision by the end of the weekend or at least that was the rumored report (everything's a f***** rumor lol) I think he might be waiting to see if Bosh actually takes the offer in Houstom. If he does then I think The Knicks and MIA are the 2 front runners. I don't think this is necessarily what's going on I'm just throwing out a realistic possibility.
One more thing. Can the Miami heat basically force Dwade to take a huge paycut? Bc no one has really been interested for him and I can't see many teams paying him that much if Miami was to drop their offer to him extremely low. I feel if MIA gives Dwade a 8+ mil per year contract they are overpaying himComment
