Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Please man, they structured those deals so that teams will be discouraged to match and if they do, they'll **** their teams up by paying scrubs max level money. Lin and Asik are both making 15 million dollars this year, but it would have only been like 8 million dollars apiece against the cap for the Rockets but that full 15 for against their former team's cap. They got what they deserved getting burned in the end.
I certainly don't remember favors being done for the Rockets.
Yeah those deals were made so it would be harder for those teams to match. That's the whole point of RFA though...so again...Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I don't like the business side of sports. I understand players want to get paid and GMs need to win to keep their jobs. But all these players moving or getting traded makes it hard to stay a fan and/or support buying player jerseys. It is no wonder why I stopped caring about the NBA for a few years not too long ago. NFL has player movement but they usually stick around for more than 3 years and players earn their contracts unlike NBA's guaranteed contract system.
Anyways, I guess Cleveland fans are happy to get Lebron back. I still think it's pathetic for the Big Three to disband after losing the Finals. Not once, but twice. But whatever. The Spurs kept their team together after losing. I think having Lebron back in Cleveland might slow Wiggins' development as well. Not sure what it will do to Anthony Bennett. It cant get worst for him though.
Linsanity is going to LA to play for the Lakers. I wont be surprised if he lasts only one year for the Lakers as well since this is the final year of his backloaded contract. This is his 4th team in 5 years. Probably 5th team in 6 years next summer. Him coming to LA will surely make the Chinese fans proud and excited though.
Lastly, just heard the Suns are trying to obtain Isaiah Thomas. They already have 3 PGs on their team. Why the need for 4 PGs? They can't play them all. I'm sick and tired of all these teams getting players creating logjams at certain positions. The Kings should keep Isaiah Thomas. F@#k!Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I'm telling you for a fact though. They really wanted Lin and Asik on their team. It's not my opinion here. When Morey traded Lin and Lin blew up in NYK Les lambasted Morey about it. This is a well known fact.
It's also a fact that Asik was a moreyball player. That they had liked him for some time.
They signed Lin thinking he had potential to be a great player and Asik too. They did not do it just to screw up other teams. That makes no sense in actuality, that you'll take on a bad contract just to mess up a team in a separate conference no less.
Makes perfect sense. They tried to screw over teams in MAJOR markets who are MAJOR players in this free agency. Come on man.The Buzz is Back in the Queen City. Cho........I have no idea what you are going to do in this draft man.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Which is entirely in the rules. If a team wants a player they do what they can to get that player. Why should the Rockets be charitable to an other team or do them favors?
