    Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

That's a significantly different statement than worse than Westbrook AND NICK YOUNG combined though man lol

I don't think he's worse than Westbrook because he's a worse scorer, chucking is chucking whether you make it or not. IMO the only way somebody can be a worse chucker than someone else is if they're chucking more than somebody else or the quality of shots they're throwing up are even worse than the ones the other guys is. Like, JR Smith is a better scorer than Nick Young I would say, but he's also the worse chucker because some of the **** he takes is absolutely ridiculous and when he takes those shots.

I should point out that I get your overall point though. I just found that statement a bit much haha

Yeah I know man lol. I'm just sayin Jackson is about a good a quarterback as Westbrook. His mentality is actually worse than Westbrook's IMO. He thinks he's way better than he is. And I actually like Jackson, just off the bench.

Imo westbrook is a product of that stagnant sess pool of an offense brooks has those guys running. If you pay good attention, you'll notice half the bad jackup shots and errant passes that both durant and westbrook make are usually because theres no where else to go with the ball. Theres no movement no cutting or anything in this offense forcing durant and westbrook to have bad turnovers trying to force bad passes to try and get there team going, but when good defensive teams smartly(and easily) play passing lanes to stop their passes from going through, the only other option is for durant and westbrook to take bad shots. Westbrook suffers more from this non offense because hes simply not the same tough shot maker durant is. We talk all the time about certain players thrive when there in the right systems, westbrook is no exception to this rule. Sure he still makes bad decisions, but im sure under a better offensive system half his bad decisions would be cut out. Overall case an point, brooks is another example of a bad coach, teaching a bad system, that screws the superstars.

The biggest improvement in Westbrook has to be his defensive potential he displayed in the Playoffs.

Russ only knows one speed. That's his problem. That and he thinks every shot is a good shot. I don't knock his ability just his mentality. If he looked to playmake even a tad more he'd be vastly improved and could really make him the best guard in the league

He really needs a coach who can get through to him and to install an actual set offense. I also don't think lamb and jones are the answers either

Sounds like the Jazz have themselves a new HC:

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Follow Utah GM Dennis Lindsey has history in Spurs organization with Snyder, and ownership left extremely impressed after meeting Snyder this week.

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Follow One scenario circulating in coach circles is that Snyder, upon landing Utah job, will try to import Euro legend Ettore Messina as assistant
Snyder has worked his way back up ever since his mess at Mizzou. Always wanted to see Messina make a move in the NBA to see his Offense operate over here.

Agreed. It amazes me how some of these guys keep getting head coaching jobs.

Did some research on Snyder... sounded like he was a crazy mofo at Mizzou. I'm excited for all of the wrong reasons, but he's got a nice resume.

I honestly can't imagine Irving turning it down. Has anyone on their rookie deal turned down the max deal extension?

Edit: Nevermind, just read no player in history has ever turned down a max extension coming off a rookie deal. Could Irving be the first... I would say no.

Flip Saunders being somewhat bold on Kevin Love

"Just like I told (Kevin) Garnett, he didn't have a right to be frustrated," Saunders said during an interview with KFAN 100.3 in Minneapolis-St. Paul. "Why does any player have a right to be frustrated? You're either part of the problem or part of the solution.

"Should the team be frustrated? Yeah, the team can be frustrated. But I don't think any one individual should be frustrated."

Saunders pointed to a moment early in Garnett's career that stood out to him.

"I tell a story about -- we were in the locker room when KG was in like his third year in the league, and Sam Mitchell was sitting in the locker room," Saunders said. "KG was in there, and we had lost a couple games, and we were all sitting there talking.

"KG started going, 'Hey, you've got to start doing more.' And he's talking to some of the bench guys. 'You've got to start doing more.' And Sam said, 'Hey, hold it, hold it. Let me tell you something. You're making all the money. Hey, it's your responsibility. You make the money, you've got to live up to that.' So, that was the mentality, and from that time, KG never ever from that point, he always took responsibility."
