Someone wrote an article a little ways back that essentially implied that there is no way Wade is taking a pay cut this time around. It was on ESPN, I'm trying to find it but having no luck.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I don't know how anybody can be confident that this isn't happening. Any other rumors, okay, I get that. But we've already seen Pat Riley pull this kind of thing off already. Why isn't it going to happen? Cause of the money? Already seen that not mean a damn thing.

Stephen A. has reported that this could happen, and after 2010, I haven't doubted dude's word since. You KNOW he's "connected". Plus, LeBron just made $30 million off of Apple's beats purchase. Melo's wife has cash. These guys are smarter with their money off-the-court than people think.
THESE DUDES ALREADY HAVE MONEY. What's to seriously prevent this from happening??Comment

I don't know why Steven A. Smith getting one thing right 4 years ago means he has all this credibility.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

It's almost like your excited about it happening so you can complain about it...lol
SAS also said LeBron is 50/50 on leaving next year....he says a lot of things...

I think Stephen A is right more than he's wrong, but he works for ESPN so he's automatically written off. Not like he's Broussard.

Dwight Howard in trouble with the media again: http://www.beautyworldnews.com/artic...bs-proving.htm
I don't really care what he does off the court, it doesn't bother me. If anything it will give him a gangster reputation.
And as for Melo on the Heat, I have mixed feelings because I would like the NBA again if this happened but people would also call me a bandwagoner all over again for being a Heat fan even though I was a fan since 2006 because of Shaq.
And I thought you said you were a Nets fan when the playoffs started this year? How many teams do you have man?
As far as Stephen A goes, does anyone know what else he's been right on other than calling Lebron to Miami? Because I feel like alot of the credit he gets for being "right" all stems from that.#RespectTheCultureComment

If this does happen, I know a bunch of players from the league are going to say something.Comment

So should we just start the new keyboard fund for ThreeKing now, or wait until this actually goes down?

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
It'll be WAAAAAYY louder this time.
Sidenote: I just don't get how so many people are okay with this, if it does in fact go down. If y'all don't like parity, that's one thing, but this is pure nonsense. I don't see the allure of ONE mega-super-team.
If these guys were all drafted by the Heat, would it be irritating? Sure, but I don't think a ton of people would be complaining.Comment

Yeah it sucks, and sets a horrible precedent for the league (even though AAU basketball has been grooming this mindset for a while now) but at the end of the day, there is nothing the league or us, or other players can do about it.
And people saying there just needs to be a hard cap, it's a lot more complex than just putting a number on it and letting it be that.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Most of the responses have been condemning it or simply wanting to watch the world burn....
other than that, people don't believe it is happening or are just waiting until we have some actual clout to the report before freaking out, lol

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Honestly, Melo going to Miami doesn't automatically make them a "super team".. I think it's far from some of the best teams we've ever saw assembled, and the rest of the guys outside of those 4 are likely to be pretty bad..
Either way, I don't like Melo. I don't want him playing with LeBron.
