Re: Hornets in the WEST?

come on now, they won't get murdered, they've played well against western teams the past couple of seasons. They will have a new coach, a new GM, and hopefully the roster will look a bit different(Younger and more athletic). They have a good base to work with in BD and Mags, West is a young up and coming player, plus whatever compensation they get for Mashburn. Hopefully Shinn opens up his damn wallet and hires a real coach for starters. It will take maybe a season or 2 of adjustments but I see them being in the mix in 3 years, maybe less.

I think they need to upgrade at Center, because Jamaal Magloire is vastly overrated IMO. He played decent in the Eastern Conference = no big men. PJ Brown is a great PF, but Magloire is overrated. They were one of the few teams in the East that had some kind of size, but Magloire probably won't get it done in the West.

I dont think Magloire is overrated, I dont rate him off the charts myself, just solid, but not good enough yet to "depend" on. I like the defensive presence he provides with his shot blocking. I hope we dont lose him, I mean how many other decent Centers are there?? If they do get someone else I doubt he'll be that much if any better than Magloire at all. The only really good centers are Shaq, Yao, Duncan(if you consider him a C). Brad Miller is good, but after that there isn't much left and those guys aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
