Stockton- All time leader in assists and steals. 'Nuff said, what more do you want from your PG?
Jordan- GOAT
LeBron- Best player in the world currently
Garnett- 4 who can take offense to the wing, clearing the paint for Shaq, and lockdown defender
Shaq- Most dominant big man of modern era on offense, great post defender too.

You can't score on this team easily, as they are all great defensive players nor can you stop them on offense. Shaq dominates inside, MJ dominates anywhere, LeBron can dominate and/or find somebody open on the floor, and Stockton can put the ball anywhere as well. Garnett clears the paint for Shaq to dominate.

Worse how? I think his point is to make it a much bigger drop off for each dollar value. So that someone for $1 isn't just as good as someone for $5.

Per wwharton's request, wanted to move this here...

This is my thought process on picking this team. It would be very difficult to pick 5 of these guys and ask them to play together with conflicting styles and egos.

First of all since I don't plan on building my team around a point guard I want a guy who doesn't constantly need the ball, or care about his own looks and touches.. Frazier and Stockton both fit that best of the choices available and with Stockton being a better option for playing off ball because he can hit 3's that's my choice.

For the wing I choose Jordan and LeBron. I think they can compliment each other the way Jordan/Pippen and Wade/LeBron do. LeBron only takes 1-2 more shots than Pippen did as a second option, so I don't see them having a problem finding enough shots or a problem scoring at ridiculous efficiency.

With Jordan being in constant attack mode and LeBron using penetration to pick a part defenses I don't need inside players who clog the lane. Therefor I take Hakeem (Russell too expensive) and either KG or Dirk. I think either player fits, KG adds extra defense while Dirk gives even more spacing with his shooting.

Stockton - $2
Jordan - $5
LeBron - $5
Dirk/KG - $2/$1
Hakeem- $1

I think if building the team around Jordan is your goal, then that's the best it'll fit chemistry and shooting wise. You could swap for similar chemistry and say have Magic and Pippen opposed to Stockton and LeBron, but I feel the extra shooting would be crucial. Both Jordan and LeBron thrived with a guard who can spot up.

Can't see any 1-2 combo that remotely compares to Jordan and Lebron. Have to be your 2 building blocks, IMO.

I just think you're missing too many people, unless its not your intention to have those be the 5 best players, in which case, its basically completely different from what is in the OP.
