A Max deal for Hamilton is not the same as Stack because of their years in the league. Plus, if you are going to give a Max deal to a player, (assuming it were the same money) wouldn't you want to give it to the younger player? The one who has potential. Stack's game is Stack's game. It's solid as hell!! But, chances are, he's done growing as a player. Rip may not be.

Good deal for the Wizards. Now MJ gets a fellow tarheel to play with him, and a very talented one at that. I like Rip Hamilton, but think that he will fit better on the Pistons. I look for Stackhouse to do very well. Hopefully the new basketball games will have this trade reflected in their rosters.

First thing here, Dumars didn't get Barry and a 1st rounder from the Kings, Pettrie gave them to the Pistons. Barry would still be a King if it weren't for some minor cost cutting moves by Pettrie. And what the hell do the Kings need a first round pick for any way? Dumars is far from a genius, and this move will prove it.

True. But Petrie still need a "taker" in the deal and Dumars put the Pistons in prime position to fill that role when most teams were strapped with luxury tax issues of their own and were getting rid of their own assets. Credit goes to Dumars for jumping in on the opportunity to make the deal with the Kings and get Jon Barry.

Joe D may not be a genius, but from the moves I've seen him make so far as GM of the Pistons, I have yet to see something to make me think he's in way over his head in handling the job. I'm not so sure why you may think otherwise, but to each his own I guess. Anyway, I think Dumars has done a good job so far and hope he continues to do so.
