Re watching this game right now. Man lol. Early in the game. Didn't look good there. But once USA takes a few punches and figure out what your doing and how the refs are calling the game. They come back and throw one huge punch and it's all over.

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain

I only watched two of the games, and then just highlights, but man I've noticed something I don't like all that much about Anthony Davis.. It seems like he wants to block a shot more than he wants to play good help defense. He seems to purposely rotate over late to try and time a block, rather than just get to his spot and properly contest..

I didn't really notice it last season, but then again I only saw a handful of Pelican games.. Hopefully this isn't something he makes into a habit, because he's got potential to be so much more than just a shot blocker. I'd much rather just see him always beat the guy to the spot the way KG used too, whether it be coming from help, or on the hedge, or whenever.

Honestly I think he just did that in these games because he can swat these players hots at will. He can't do that in the nba. I saw a few pelicans games last year and I didn't see him do that really.

Harden has that scoring 6th men mentality on the court on defense.

His problem is that he doesn't give the same effort on the defense end as he gives on the offense. He loses focus of his man way to often.

He also needs work on the offense end too. Sometimes he'll dribble the air out of the ball.

I really hope the IOC would open the men's basketball to more teams other then 12. Hopefully they bump it up to 16 or even 18 nationals.

And all NBA players would represent there nations in it if not injured.

                          Cant wait till RIO 2016

Adrian Wojnarowski taking Coach K and USA's involvement in FIBA to task:

NBA needs to pull stars from USA Basketball, which is showcasing only Duke's coach

Outside of Derrick Rose using FIBA as a Double-A rehab assignment and some sportswriters beefing up on Marriott points for post-summer vacations, this tournament was a waste of everyone's time and resources. They used to call it the World Championships. Now it's the World Cup of Basketball. This is certain: It has outlived its usefulness for the NBA, and owners and executives will be wise to petition FIBA to reshape the future of international basketball.
I have no problem with the following part of it because coaches do it all the time. They are in a privileged position and they would be stupid not to use it for their advantage. Calipari did it with Towns when he coached the Dominican Republic team. But I do find it interesting that anyone would take Coach K to task in a national article. Doesn't happen often:

Krzyzewski never violated an NCAA rule when he climbed aboard a flight, flew cross-country and addressed the 2013 under-19 USA Basketball national team at its Colorado Springs training camp. He addressed players in a group, and talked to them individually, sources told Yahoo Sports. For the record, Krzyzewski is USA Basketball's senior national coach and the visit gave him an opportunity to personally welcome those young men into the program's feeder system.

Well, the trip did something else, too: It gave the Duke coach unfiltered access to two of the best high school players in the nation. Florida's Billy Donovan was the under-19 head coach. Virginia's Tony Bennett and VCU's Shaka Smart were his assistants. They probably didn't need Krzyzewski's voice, but he probably didn't ask their permission, either.

The roster of college stars happened to include two 17-year-old prep phenoms: Chicago's Jahlil Okafor and Houston's Justise Winslow. When Krzyzewski makes his triumphant return this week, two freshmen stars will be awaiting him on Duke's campus: Okafor and Winslow.

I had a bigger problem with him getting a nationwide commercial for no good reason than this. They going to start going after coaches that run 5 Star camps rather than just attending too?
