    Re: Clipper Fans:The Frustration

Kaman will turn out to be a good offensive player. He won't block or even alter many shots like Okafor can,but he has good touch and post moves.

Livingston will be worth it,in a few years...

Yup Clippers just got a wait 2-3 years...Man how long have their fans been hearing that!

      Re: Clipper Fans:The Frustration

Okafor probably isn't going to be ready to be an nba center for a few more years. He probably needs to add a little strength(he has bulked up in last 6months) and he needs to get acclimated with the On-the-Ball defense. A lot of teams could clear-out everyone and let their centers manhandle Okafor at this point if Okafor had to play center all the time. Brand is a great great powerforward , but it would be crazy to put brand at center either.

But in 2-3 years Okafor might have his on-the-ball duties mastered and still be ahead of Kamen who will have to work his butt off to be more then a big stiff. Ahhh the promise of being 7foot... Kamen already has good strength and a half=decent game on the ball , but he needs Off-the-ball skills, he needs to aquire a better motor and relentlessly work on offense and defense for positioning, he needs conditioning and seasoning and Kamen also needs his team to give him some real experience in the form of playing time and game responsibilities if he is to develop.

Livingston's great gift is his court vision and timing. Players like that have the ability to get the ball in traffic, take a photographic snapshot of everthing and then 3 strides later do not even have to look - his mind knows where the finishers and spot up shooters will be. He knows how to manipulate the opposing defense with his eyes and moves kind of like a quarterback looking-off a safety before a pass. These abilities are special!
At 6'4+ they are very very special. He is a prodigy but he is very immature physically. In 2 or 3 years Livingston will have the natural strength to shoot 3s with ease , at this point his best range really extends to about 17feet.
All Livingston needs is a little strength and a little time and seasoning and he will be an allstar. If the Clippers can make a move for a big star in free-agency/ trades , then it will help Livingston even more. He will thrive in a positive enviornment that is serious about winning.

Flipside- a mediocre team that doesn't have strict coaching/ownership could hurt Livingston , and he needs coaching that will let him do his thing without yelling at him all the time , because he will need to adjust to NBA speed. -again like in football if you throw an out pass off the back foot in college you can get away with it , but in the pros the defense will use the extra time tha ball is up to close the distance and make a play on the ball!

Livingston is NICE tho. Showtime player

if the clippers stayed and drafted okafor, i wouldve shot myself. Remember last time they thoguht big men would help out? and they wasted the 8th AND 11th picks? i think if they actually let livingston develop and re-sign him in 3 years when hes breaking out (which is, in the least, hopeful) it will have worked wonderfully.
