I actually think not so much that you can get experienced college players who can do the same job, but rather you can get cheap veteran free agents who can do the same job, especially in Foyle's case. All he does is rebound and block shots, and there are enough center free agents out there who also do just that, like Steven Hunter. Personally, I might have gone after Keon Clark, because he is definitely worth that amount of cash, and he rebounds and block shots and more.
For one year, Mullin and Foyle were teammates, and Mullin tends to stick with guys he knows.

I agree...Hunter and Clark can be had for less than the MLE...Chris Anderson has sick hops can block shots like crazy for a guy who doesn't get much PT and he can score...He'd probably get a bit more than the minimum,but i'd bet his production per 40 minutes would be better than Foyles.
