Is this trade realistic? Would you do it?

I got this off a Celtics message board and it really floats my boat

"Phoenix trades Marion and Eisley, receiving Dampier, Wallyworld, and Atikins. A marginal all-star on a medium-length contract PLUS a legitimate center PLUS a slight salary dump? That might actually be attractive.

Golden State trades Dampier and takes back Mihm. Why not? Davis and Uncle Cliffie are both aging.

The Bowwows trade Wallyworld and take Ricky, Yogi, and a pick. Wally isn't fitting in there. McHale used to like Ricky. He hasn't seen many picks recently.

We clean out the cupboard of odds and ends, trading Ricky, Chucky, Mihm, Yogi, a pick, and probably the ever-present $3 million as well, getting back Matrix and Eisley. And, making it even more expensive cashwise, we probably sign somebody like Rogers. "

It doesn't make too much sense for GS to trade Dampier only to get back Mihm. They can get much better for Dampier then Mihm and they realize that.



BTW, Rogers signed with NO.

Well Dampier is a free agent so I mean they could end up getting nothing (which is very likely). At least this way they end up getting a young C with potential.

Theyre not going to lose Dampier for nothing. The only way he'll go to another team and get the money he wants is through sign and trade. Why do you think he hasn't already signed with the Knicks?

That just sounds like a trade that a NY fan would come up with. It cleans out junk for quality players, those type deals never happen.
