With the Wizards backcourt, and Jamison and PJ in the frontcourt, the Wizards could be a sleeper playoff team. Kwame's injury just sweetens the pot, as it gives PJ more minutes to develop faster (could play 30 minutes a night by subbing Haywood and Thomas since the Wiz have no other talented big men)Comment

Originally posted by uwlawyerI agree. This Grunfeld guy is a magician. I knew how good PJ was since the kid was 16, but by playing in PR, he alienated himself from many scouts. Grunfeld knows the PR league, and he knows what scoring 20 ppg over there means. (Note that PJ scored 36 points and had 22 rebounds against Stanley Roberts, who may not be an NBA player anymore, but nontheless this is not something many 18 year olds can do.)

Re: Grunfeld uncovered another Gem!!!!
Originally posted by BigMikeI think this is definitely a premature judgement as Flip and Redd have proven that they were "gems" while Ramos hasnt even played a game in the L. PJ was picked so late because of questions as to whether or not he could play against NBA big men, putting up #s on stanley roberts proves nothing. Also, PJR wont be getting 25 much less 30 mpg. We signed Samaki Walker, making PJR at best #3 C. Kwames Injury at worst would put him back in the rotation in late November and hes expected to be ready for training camp anyway. Even if he was out, PJR would still be behind Ruffin and Samaki. IMO PJR will never be better than Kwame, and definitely wont be putting Haywood/Thomas on the bench.Comment

Re: Grunfeld uncovered another Gem!!!!
Scouts whose job it is to find, watch, and evaluate potential players for a living are wrong sometimes, what makes you think that you "know" how good he'll be? He could turn out to be a great player and a genius pick, but it remains to be seen how he stacks up against real NBA big men for 82+ games a year.
FYI, Stanley Roberts couldn't make the Raptors last year, a team desperate for big men.Comment

Yeah, he was cut minutes after losing three separate games by a combined score of 15-0 to Raptors 12th man Robert ArchibaldComment
