they know how to play.....but their not in the league..nuff said...anybody can paly streetball...do some little crossovers...and you forget the people they play against are playing b.s. defense on them. the nba is a whole new level that they are not ready for. skip is way better than all of them and look where he's at.

I watched Skip put 14 and 10 with 2 turnovers in 40 mins against Utah last season. (What I didn't know until I checked is he had 5 blks that game).

It's unfortunate for Alston that Karl was his coach early in his career. He's still young, though, and if you like Jamal Tinsely, I think his NBA game is similar, if not better.

          Jason Williams anyone?!...

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

I think that these NBA GM's would know a little bit better than us, what 'real' 'NBA TALENT' is. Maybe Skip just doesn't have it...

i mentioned early that i do summer camps with Ray Allen and he's baffled to why Rafer doesn't get more "PT" as well.. it's no secret Karl is old school and doesn't appreciate the the street game...

you forgot jason williams was one of the top college players in the country. you guys are all saying give skip a chance and talking about one good game he had. i watched alot of games where he came in and screwed up the game plan. mabey in golden state he'll have more leway and the coach will let him shine.

I had to chime in. You folks have got to be kidding me. Did you not watch the World Championship Tournament. There is a whole lot more to basketball than "crossin someone up". Rafer is a streetball player. Period. He is just another in a LONG line of NYC point guards with all handle and ZERO jumpie. Hmmm, anyone seen God Shamgod lately? Or how about Ed Cota??? Need another example, let's see, Adrian "a whole lotta game" Walton, another NYC street legend, started for Fordham last year. After watching him tear up Rucker League games, I expected to see an unstoppable force. Hmmm, 5.1 points a game is not exactly what I would consider a prime time talent. Now his teammate Smush Parker has game. Why, because he can actually shoot. Anyone remember all the buzz when Felipe Lopez came up? Thought so.

Felipe wasnt a streetball legend. He played well in high school and at St Johns and he has had an average NBA career. He was overhyped when he came out of HS but he was never hyped up as a streetballer.

                    Re: GIVE \"SKIP\" A CHANCE!.....

When I refer to Felipe Lopez, I'm referring to another NYC player who is more hype than substance. I'm not trying to say NYC ballers can't play, I'm just saying there is a tendency to inflate the abilities of players from New York. The young heads of today place WAY to much emphasis on style over substance. The NBA game is going down the tubes because of this. If it takes a bunch of European players taking some jobs to make folks finally wake up, so be it.

Shamgod was only popular for creating that one move man...
