Honestly, I feel like LeBron isn't getting love because LeBron isn't playing like old LeBron.. He's still playing just as well, at times better, than the other guys getting votes.. He shouldn't be penalized because he had previous years of godmode.

I think more than that what's penalising him is that he didn't start the season very well. His body langage wasn't good, his attitude was questionnable at times and he wasn't really himself on the court either. Then he also had to miss a week or two. I think the MVP has to be the MVP from day one.

Even though that's rarely the case in pretty much any sports league.

Just look at their team and their record, that's Lebron at his first years at Cleveland like. I guess you have to give it to Harden, but nobody would be mad if Curry would get it.

I think Harden could do the same amount of damage with this GSW team than Steph probably would with this Hou team and so maybe LeBron James Harden is it BUT

The difference to me is that Harden, this year, has met the level or even surpassed the level that Curry has been on defense. That was the one area coming into the year that we wouldn't have expected to be the case, and similar numbers would have went to Curry because "two way player"..

For a large chunk of the year Harden has led the entire league in scoring, played just about as efficient as anyone, and his well rounded game has been a light-LeBron like effort. I think he's absolutely done the most with the less talent, on a more consistent level, and overshadowing his top-tier competitors on most nights.

Curry to me is more excitement than actual production. Every night he's going to have a wild plays that can land on the top 10 plays of the week.. But just watching him play you realize how good his team is. He can get away with showing off, not always playing smart, winning basketball.. Hell he only plays 32 minutes a night, that's all they need from him, they are ridiculously deep and don't rely him huge games from him each and every night just to win games... I think Harden, LeBron, Westbrook, Davis, all have more they are carrying on their back than Curry does.

I love Curry, I love watching him play, and it's great for his MVP stock that they have the best record in the league, but I just don't see the team carrying trait from him that I would expect from the league MVP. 23 and 7 statically doesn't even stand out. Considering the make up of the team I think Harden's scoring and playmaking stand out much much more at this point.

I would by no means be disappointed if Curry wins it, and I actually expect him to and have been for awhile, but I think Houston being 2nd in the West, playing in the toughest division in the league, and with multiple injuries, that the just one seed higher Curry holds over Harden shouldn't be the deciding factor. It's not like Houston is the 8th seed or anything.

I think I'd still go with Curry at this point. You mention Harden's improvement on defense but you don't acknowledge how much better Curry has been on that end this season. Last year, he was being hidden on wings and now he's holding his own against all star point guards every other night while leading one of the top offenses in the league. And make no mistake, the offense completely revolves around Curry. Just because every play doesn't end with a bucket or assist from him doesn't mean that he's not carrying them. Whether he's running around screens or in the pick and roll he garners all the attention of the defense which leads to the rest of the team being able to create plays.
I definitely won't argue against that Harden has done the most with the least amount of talent (although I think Russ has been close) but I find it hard to hold it against Curry, that his team has been the best in the league. The reason he's only playing 32 minutes a night is because they've had so many blowouts that he often doesn't need to finish a game. Again, I not sure it's really fair to hold that bit against him. Statically speaking, 23, 4 and 7 is pretty impressive in 32 minutes and he's gonna finish just short of a 50-40-90 year again.
I just think with how absolutely dominant GS has been this year, that it belongs to Curry. I know on the standings, their teams are only one seed apart but the 10 game gap between them is huge. It's about the same gap between Houston and okc.
I think it mostly comes down to how you view the mvp should be awarded. It should be fun to see how close it ends up.
