I think the NBA should do something similar to what baseball has. In baseball a high school senior can enter it's draft, but if he chooses to go to college then he can't enter the draft until after he has at least finished his junior year of college. The only change that I would make to this is cutting it down to a player's sophmore year for the NBA because I think the Player's Association may see 3 years as being too long. You also have players like Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd, Elton Brand, Baron Davis, and Chris Webber, who only played two years of college ball and became solid players.
The players that have the ability to make an instant impact straight out of high school like Lebron James and Amare Stoudamire would still be allowed in the draft if they want to enter it. However, if a player decides to go to college(Meaning he signs a letter of intent to attend college.) he is not allowed in the draft until after he completes sophmore year. If this rule in place for this years draft only Dwight Howard would be the only high school kid in the draft. Shaun Livingston, Sebastian Telfar, Robert Swift, Al Jefferson, Dorrell Wright, Josh Smith, and J.R. Smith
would not since they all pretty much from what I read signed letters of intent to attend college. Dwight Howard did not.
In my opinion, this rule would control the amount of players leaving early better than the age limit. What do you guys think?
