It's really not an evaluation of the Celtics either way, it's an evaluation of Rondo.
Can you really have an evaluation of Rondo without evaluating the only team he had ever played for? Look how much peoples' "evaluations" of Dirk changed after the Mavs won a championship.

I can't speak for "people" but I was on the side of Dirk being great before he got a chance to prove it on the big stage.

But no, you can't evaluate him more than being on one team. But on that team, I never thought he was good as many made him out to be. He was a product of the role he had with 3 future HOFers around him. Even with them there, he started to act entitled and better than he is. I will say he probably wasn't healthy long enough to give a full evaluation of what he'd be without the Big 3, but I personally saw enough to say over and over he wasn't as good on the court as people were saying... and is a mental midget off the court to keep that from changing.

Like then, it's just my opinion now. Could be wrong but he's done more to prove me right.

It's gonna be interesting when teams hack Rondo in the playoffs this year. I think you're gonna see a lot of Barea and Monta at the point.

I think that's the point. They traded away Rondo and are exactly the same team.

Isn't that the best case scenario for a team that just traded away its supposed best player? Doesn't that say his impact was minimal at best?

That's not to say Rondo won't be a good impact for Dallas. What happens in Boston is separate from Dallas. I find the arguments to find similarities silly.
