"5th. None of this changes my mind that we shouldn’t have NBA players in international competition. As big a story as the TeamUSA’s problems, are the attendance problems and the ratings of the Olympics. This is a business event that is marketed to our patriotism. Congrats to NBC for what they have accomplished in their marketing and results, turning a profit on a billion dollar investment. A smack in the head to the NBA for providing our most valuable players, at risk of injury and full subsidy by our teams, to enable a competitor to sell to the same advertisers that could be buying from the NBA and our partners."
Uh oh, now you got me started on Marc Cuban. Did he forget that half of his team was drawn to the NBA by the 1992 and 1996 Dream Team? Does this knothead think Novitzki is from Minnesota, or what?
Idiot. Without the dream team, there may be no Dirk in the league. Greaseball Nash may still be in Canada, playing hockey or something.
Once again, once he's got his players, he could care less about what the dream team has done for him (and the NBA). It's all about money, regardless of how he got it. This guy's attitude is just as bad as the players who are "too good" and have "too much money" to be representing the USA.Last edited by Dallasin2K3; 08-21-2004, 12:21 AM.Originally Posted by Briman123

I forget if he still is the owner of the Mavs but well, he was/is an owner, do you really expect him to be enthusiastic about the possibility of one of his players get injured there, its like preseason in football, everybody hates it except for the people that hope to get a chance to make the team.
I don't like Cuban either, not really for any reason, I just don't like him. Maybe its because he is having a reality tv show (I HATE JUST ABOUT EVERY ONE OF THOSE SHOWS).Comment

Many forget that if the NBA owners start to pull their players out of the olympics, many of the foreign countries will start to put them in the army. Pau and Dirk are two prominent players that were allowed to skip that mandatory duty in exchange for their play for the national team. If Cuban wants to balk at that, he'd have half a team left.Comment

that would suck. I like that Cuban is one of the few Gms to be outspken and actually have ablog so we can see the NBA trough an isider's eyes. but he needs to learn how to shut his trap now and then. he should focus on giving away a million dollars and not the US National team.J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!!!!!
