    Most Memorable Moments

This is just a topic to post some of your favorite moments in NBA history....championships, buzzer-beaters, All-Star games, fights, etc. Anything that was or will be a classic in your eyes...

Some of my favorite moments ever happened very recently...

Coming into the 1999-2000 season, I knew the Los Angeles Lakers were going to make the playoffs, but I didn't think they would win the Finals. But I should have known that with teh trio of Kobe, Shaq, and the new head coach, Phil Jackson, the Western Conference as going to be interesting. I watched all season and one memorable thing was watching LA go on their 22 game winning streak (seems everyone forgot about that, I dunno why). I don't remember who they lost to exactly, but I THINK it was the Pacers. (Can someone tell me please?) Anyway, they made the playoffs seeded #1 and they got through the first and second rounds pretty easily. When they played Portland I was kinda scared because Portland was also kicking *** in the West that year. Well LA got up 3-1 in the series but the Blazers weren't to be denied. They came back and tied the series up heading to the Staples Center for a 7th and deciding game. LA was one victory of away from reaching the finals again since 1991. LA was down by 16 in the 4th quarter and I remember watching it with my family thinking, "LA blew it!" But LA would not give up and made a HUGE comeback and beat the Blazers to move to the NBA Finals. They played the Pacers and I knew they would win. I was sitting at home when the buzzer went off and the LA Lakers became champions again! I went absolutely crazy!!! (I live in CA, near LA so my cousin and I honestly went insane..lol). LA had brought back a championship to where it belonged! :-D

Another moment was Game 4 of this last season's playoffs with the Lakers and Kings. Everyone should nkow what I'm talking about. Kobe drives in to tie the game up and misses...Shaq grabs the rebound and tries to score but he misses and everyone thinks the game is over and the Kings are one voctory away from the Finals...but Mr. Vlade Divac decides to hit the ball away towards the other side of the court (usually a smart thing to do...) but little did he know that Mr. Clutch, Big Game Robert Horry was standing at the top of the 3-point line. When Horry picked up the ball and shot it, I stood up and it seemed like forever! When the ball went through the net (I was at a friend's house and tehre was like 10 of us there) we all went absolutely PSYCHO! My friend's sister was asleep and woke up thinking something was happening and she ot all scared. LOL!

Another emotional type moment was when Chick Hearn came back after missing a few months of announcing due to surgery and a broken hip. Watching that gave me the chills. Seeing all the LA fans stand up giving Chick a standing ovation was awesome to see. It sucks that Chick is now gone but the memories of his announcing games will always be with every Laker fan...

OK, enough of me and my favorite moments. I hope you guys like this topic...as you can see, my favorite monents mostly happened with LA ( I haven't posted all my fave moments but those are a few...) I have been watching the Lakers for a while now and I watch all their games. I only watch other teams play on NBC (ABC now), TBS, and TNT. Anyway, what are some of ur favorite moments?

Well BZ, you named some of my recent favorite memorable moments.

I would have to say Magic's hook shot to beat the Celtics in game 4 of the 1987 Finals. You can't get more dramtic then that.

Regular season game during the 2000-2001 season. The Bucks beat the Lakers in LA. Sammy hit the game winner. HUGE game!

(Bucks also beat them at the Bradley Center that season.)

Lrry Bird stealing the inbound pass from Isaiah Thomas and making the pass to DJ to lay it in at the buzzer in the '88 Eastern Finals. Also my favorite Johnny Most call.

I would have easily mentioned those had I actually seen them like the day they happened or something...I was only 1 during Magic's sjhot and 2 during Bird's steal so I never saw those plays until around 92. And they were awesome, especially Magic's hook shot.

The two moments that stick out in my head right now are:

Larry Johnson's 4-point play against the Pacers, and Tracy Mcgrady's alley-oop off the backboard to himself in the all star game.

that t-mac ally-oop was over rated........real ballers (like myself) have seen that done hundreds of times before he did it......and if i recall d miles did it a day ealier in the rookie/sof game. in my opinion his was better but he didnt on any highlight reels.
