Steve, good interview bro--sucks about not having the ability to trade draft picks or save in game but this whole freestyle control things seems really inovative--with your experiences with the free style control scheme--how do you like it? or what do you not like about it? and is it really as inovative as it seems?

Operation Sports: Are there random injuries on your team during franchise even when you are not simulating? Did you increase the frequency of injuries?
Tim Tschirner: If you simulate games in Franchise Mode there will be a variety of injuries, mostly based on a player's proneness to injuries. Players can get injured during gameplay only after hard fouls. We are aware that a lot of our users would like to see a bigger variety and frequency of in-game injuries and we will definitely address that going forward. Unfortunately there wasn't enough time to properly include this in NBA Live 2003.

How long does it take to make in game injuries realistic? People have been asking for this since Live 2000.

Freestyle control is very nice, I see it being implemented in other games in the future.

yeah, I agree--it definetly gave EA an edge this year--i hope that the end of game AI was tweaked, I wish we asked about that.

Only thing i disagree with about the interview was the player faces ,it doesnt seem to me to be the most realistic looking but other than that from the videos i think the game play looks alot better then last years i look forward to playin it

Well...sounds to me like the only things they have changed are the freestyle controls and adding more blocks and steals. Franchise mode hasn't changed (still only 10 years?? no workouts for incoming draft class??). The AI still doesn't substitute realisticly, and, it seemed to me like everytime a question was asked about a possible NEW feature that everyone's wanted, they said the same 'ole thing: Maybe in the future. I don't know about y'all, but to me, looks like 2K3 has them beat again. Although Live is definitely getting a few rentals based on that freestyle mode, but that's about it.

Sage, I'm pretty sure it will be fun. I love the fancy dribble moves of NBA Street(my only keeper from last year's sports titles), so you know LIve is at least getting a look. But for franchise mode, 2K3 has got me hyped. I've been waiting for a basketball game to deliver the same type of franchise feel that Madden has brought to the table, and it seems as though 2K3 has done it.

yea I will look to Live for alot of fun but my serious basketball games will probably be NBA 2k3 and or inside drive. Tha top three basketball games look great this season.
