They wouldn't beat us this year. There's a difference between running DJ Augustin's Bulls out the gym after they've been hustling themselves out for 82 games again because of being shorthanded and this year's team with new and improved Jimmy Butler, near MVP level Derrick Rose and the most healthy playoff roster we've had in about 3 or 4 years. Would be a helluva series though.

Honestly, the thing that I said would happen, seems like it happened. The way Raptors played in this series, it didn't matter if they faced Wizards or Bucks, they'd lose either way.
Really, the way the Raptors played, if they faced the Nets or Celtics, they'd still lose.

Damn bruh, you done let old man Pierce eat your soul lol. Y'all not that damn bad, if you guys had just played for that 3 seed, you'd have beat the Bucks in 5, 6 max and then got crushed by Cleveland, but at least you'd have gotten out of the first round. I mean, I ain't mad at y'all playing to get Washington, saved us some trouble, but damn son.Comment

So the plan for the Raps has to be to blow it up, right? I mean, this team was kind of an accident to begin with, and I'm not really sure how they continue to grow from here.

I would have just let him sit out man. We don't need him to close this series out.Comment

Weird that these guys are playing game 3 while other teams are prepping for game 4 on the same day.

The team has been a mess since the All-Star break. I don't know exactly what happened because I stopped paying for cable awhile ago and can't get Raps games on LP. The start they were off to at the beginning of the season seems like it was a year ago now. It's a shame because this is (or was) a likeable team.
Of course that impending Durant free agency saga is on every Raptors fan's mind, but I seriously doubt they have a legitimate chance to get him. I feel if he's going anywhere it's going to be Washington or some surprise team we aren't thinking of right now.
As for the current Raptors roster though, it's not that different from last year but with the results since the all-star break, it's definitely being looked at differently. Pretty much everyone's stock has fallen to the point you have to wonder if there's really any true long-term building blocks. JV and T Ross haven't taken the leap. DeRozan took a step back after coming back from his injury. Lowry's already 29.
Despite all of this, I don't think the team is going to get blown up. I'd be very surprised if Ujiri traded a core piece like DeRozan, but he has shown in the past that he's not averse to making big trades. I do however expect him to fire Dwane Casey and make some moves considering he's going to have quite a bit of money to play with in the offseason. Amir, Landry Fields, and Chuck Hayes are all expiring. I also don't think Lou Will comes back next year so there's another $5M.
It's gonna be an interesting offseason to watch in Raptorland, that's for sure. I think most were expecting them to win at least 1 round in the playoffs and continue to build off of that. Now here we are discussing what big changes they might make. Funny how quickly things can change.Last edited by BlueNGold; 04-25-2015, 04:30 PM.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. I give the nets their respect. They kicked our sss today. Were the better team and dominated the game. We better get our offense going or this will be a long series.Psn: Alabamarob
