11- Cole Aldrich (NO)

Worst lottery players ever besides John Wall, Demarcus Cousins and Paul George.

Hayward? Favors? Monroe? Think Bledsoe was near the lottery, too. Pretty decent class nowadays.

- Parsons has been bad. I'm not talking about the injury, but his decision-making, and forcing stuff. I think you need to play Aminu as he will at least give you better defense and play within the offense.

- Amare has been really bad. I haven't seen much from him this year, but he looks like a shell of his former self

- Josh Smith has looked even worse! Such a black hole, but he's the best defensive big man Houston had this game (I say this game because Howard barely played) so he gets minutes. This is where the coach has to be a coach and calm him down with the turnovers and poor shots

- Dirk and Harden have gotten so many ticky tack calls (not really new for either of them)

- Speaking of ticky tack, Dallas has ZERO answer for Howard. If the ticky tack stuff lets up he's going to win a game on his own. Book it.

- Harden's passing... wow. Just wow.

- This game never seemed out of Houston's control, even when Dallas roared back, Rockets never lost their composure.

Opening shots fired. I expected Houston to win as they are the better team, but Carlisle is a much better coach and that should bear out as adjustments are made. Subpar shooting game from Harden and Howard barely played, so overall it was a success for Houston with room to improve. Cuban called the Rockets the most predictable team in the NBA, but knowing what someone is going to do and being able to stop it are two completely different animals.

Good game for us I'm happy we got the W against Dallas. I know I haven't posted as much lately since I'm getting ready to change Duty Stations and go to Japan and being a Marine is srs business and whatever but let's go Rockets...

The depth of the top teams really show in the playoffs.

The Rockets had to become a deep team due to the crazy amount of injuries suffered. Every night you never know who's going to suit up, so you have to be ready to show up any given night. Really missing Pat Bev and DMo right now though.

Pat would make Rondo work much harder than Jet/Pablo, and would provide that consistent energy when the team starts slacking.

DMo would provide another option off the the bench for when Josh Smith Starts doing Josh Smith things.

I actually think McHale outcoached Carlisle this game, but expect it to change. Things I liked from McHale...

- His response to the couple times Dallas tried that weak "hack-a-Rocket"

- Putting Harden on Parsons and Ariza on Monta. Both did a great job.

- Actually running the pick and roll!

- When he used his energy guys/ timeouts

- The biggest one: going with Capela over the far inferior Dorsey. During the regular season fans were begging for more Capela time, but Dorsey kept getting his minutes despite high levels of suck. This feels like the Troy Daniels treatment where an unknown rook plays a significant role after getting very little time in the regular season. When I saw Capela's first significant minutes with the Rockets I knew he was going to be special. Guy put on a highlight reel.

Putting Harden on Parsons and Ariza on Monta. Both did a great job.

While Ariza was playing solid defense on him, Monta struggling isn't anything new, he's been doing it since the All-Star break. Parsons was more the injury I believe.

Going back to davis, i really hope he comes out aggressive in game 2. I really like him as a player, and can wait to see future playoff battles he has. When the day comes that he ends up on a contending team, the league should and will cringe in fear.

Really wish the Clippers-Spurs game wasn't at 10:30.

Not as young as you used to be? I remember when 1030 games were nothing for me but they take more out of me than they used to and I don't watch Inside nearly as much anymore.

In college, my first class was at 2:15 PM so I could sleep in. Now I wake up at 6 to get ready for work. If the game were gonna end at like midnight at the latest, I'd be fine, but I hate starting out my work week feeling exhausted lol. The NBA Playoffs are my "Welcome to the real world" moment I guess
