Don't you think it's absolutely mind-boggling how Magic is still alive?
No offense to him or his fans, but it's amazing what wealth can do for you, huh? Cured possibly? Just bringing this up since it's been almost 10 years since he contracted the HIV virus, and he'll be inducted into the HoF this weekend...Tags: None -

He has money to buy all the medicine in the world, experemental or not. I think it's a bit worrying that he keeps talking about how great he is feeling. It's great for people with HIV to get hope by this, but it surely sends out the wrong message to alot of young people that HIV/AIDS it not "that" dangerous any more, because it is! I wish him all the best.

It's not mind-boggling. Like gangsterboy say, he has a lot of money can pay for a lot of medicine. Anyway, I'm just glad he's doing OK. I'm looking forward to watching Bird induct Magic into the Hall of Fame later today.Comment

Mind-boggling? NO! what is mind-boggling is the fact that somone actually thinks that this is mind-boggling. These are also the same peole that thought it was tragic when he anounced he had HIV. Read a magazine or a newspaper once in a while, people live this long with the disease all the time. And so what if he has the money to take care of himself. People should be getting on the insurance companies for not covering people with this disease. Not the people that have the means to do it themselves.Comment

It is amazing, but the fact still remains that there is no "cure" for HIV or AIDS. I work in EMS, and I know a lot about the virus. It's structure and makeup is constantly changing and transforming. Which is why nobody can lock down a cure yet. Sadly, even with his money and wealth, he eventually will succumb to the virus. It's just a matter of time.Comment

Guys, Magic doesn't have full blown AIDS. He has the AIDS virus but not in it's full blown state. There are many you have AIDS like Magic who end up living a normal life. The only thing is if he decides to have a sexual relation, his partner might contact the full blown AIDS virus, but not him. Strange.Comment

Vinsanity
The virus can still develop into AIDS. It can lay dormant for quite some time. His immune system is still being destroyed. That's why most people who have HIV or AIDS die of pnemonia, because the human body is then unable to fight off infection, because the immune system has been destroyed.Comment

Thanks for the clarification Redfield. This AIDS thing is scary. It's already an epidemic and reports indicate by the year 2010, 200 million people worldwide will suffer from this disease. I dunno about you but that's some scary [censored].Comment

It's only classified as AIDS if their T-Cell count goes below a certiain number right?
Well anyway, i'm not surprised he's been around for this long. Being a professional athlete has probably contributed to his long life. He was always in great physical condidtion throughout his carrer. I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon.Today I realized something. I'm a clown.
