Well, we would probably include Ricky or Jiri in a package for him, but also we are in desperate need of a big 3. All those guys are basically Sg/Sf, we need a straight up SF to defend the bigger guys in the league and also to take pressure off Paul. The coaching staff has been dying for one. I dont think Reed is the answer.

Originally posted by JebbyYou really think he would fit in? Boston have more than enough swingmen in PP, Ricky Davis, Jiri Welsch and Justin Reed don't you think?

Re: Zach Randolph for Michael Redd
This deal is actually being negotiated.
The Portland Trail Blazers are very unhappy with Zach Randolph. He was set to be cornerstone of a new era of Blazer basketball, where the only news he would make would be on the court play, not in the court the play. The recent develops stemming from a shooting involving his brother at a nightclub and Randolph's subsequent allegeded obstruction of justice have made the Blazers reconsider their plans.
The Oregonian is reporting that a trade is being negotiated where the Blazers would send Randolph, Derek Anderson and a 2005 draft pick to Milwaukee for Michael Redd, Desmond Mason and Marcus Haislip.
This deal could be perceived as a success for the Blazers even without Randolph's legal problems, as Redd has become one of the league's most highly touted shooting guards. The Blazers would receive a player to finally properly fill the position vacated by Clyde Drexler.
The motivation for the Bucks to complete this deal will be because Redd becomes an unrestricted free-agent at the end of this season and this could be the lone opportunity for Milwaukee to get equal value in return. In Randolph, a restricted free-agent at season's end, they will have the NBA's most promising young power forward. Even though the Bucks have high hopes for Redd, a shooting guard is an infinitely easier position to fill.Comment

Re: Zach Randolph for Michael Redd
Milwaukee is as close as a second team to me as anyone else , and if they make this trade they are getting the worse end of it. Your going to give up a top perimeter shooter, who can drive when he wants to a Allstar in a conference full of guards, in Michael Redd (who is my favorite player not on the magic), PLUS a slasher, scorer, sparkplug in Desmond Mason for a guy who for ONE season avg 20.1 pts and 10.5 rebounds and Anderson? This trade would put the Blazers over IMO, but I think that would be the biggest mistake for the Bucks. then what are they left with? VanHorn, DA and Randolph? If they do this trade they will probably be pushing the envolope to not be a playoff team next year.Comment

Re: Zach Randolph for Michael Redd
If you forgot about all the legal troubles,i don't see how anyone would want REDD over Randolph..this is just my opinion, but i'd rather have 20 ppg from a big then 22 ppg from a shooting guard.
But i can understand why the blazers wanna make this deal with the no-tolerance approach on legal issues...Comment

Re: Zach Randolph for Michael Redd
Well another thing was that Milwaukee was really clicking last year until T.J. Ford got injured. They had great team chemistry and was an extreamly solid team last year. They would have gotten to the second round I think if they didnt play Detroit.Comment
