If he's fired I doubt anybody will want to sign that clown.

I kinda want to see the Lakers, Celtics and even the Knicks get back to relevancy and get in the playoff hunt.#RespectTheCultureComment

Well he'd be able to get top assistants to help with the schematics, which was the case for Kerr.
I don't know that the rah rah stuff would carry over with players who are making millions already, at least 21 or older, versus the 17 and 18 year olds he recruits.
If he really cared about getting respected, he'd probably take another shot at the NBA.
As for Sacto, yeah you have a rich owner who thinks he knows better than basketball professionals and likes to meddle a lot.
But if he's continually giving out big contracts, sooner or later some free agents will bite.
Their issue is whether the local fan base will support the team. They're getting a new arena so we'll see.
If the small market owners are getting a good cut of the big TV contract, the league overall should be more competitive, unless franchise players pull a Shaq or Dwight and chase the bright lights of the big market teams.Comment

But this year's Finals had the highest ratings in over a decade so maybe the NBA won't be as dependent on clubs in the glamorous markets.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
I agree about the Lakers and Knicks too, though a part of me will be annoyed if the Lakers get Cousins just for Russell or something or get Aldridge. Even if they get one of the two, I don't think they'll be in the playoff hunt this year, but I guess it depends on what else they can acquire.
The Knicks are kinda the same way IMO. If it's just Monroe and Afflalo (supposedly they're offering him $12 mil per or something), I don't think they have enough to be in the playoff hunt even in the East.
I think for those two teams, they'll be looking at the playoff hunt the following year.NFL: Bills

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Depending on how bad Brooklyn does Boston could back pretty soon. I mean over the next 3 drafts I think we have something like 9 first round draft picks. And 3 of those are unprotected from Brooklyn. Also last season they made the playoffs. And this offseason they should get better. I personally didn't really like our draft with taking 3 more guards, but I like the Hunter pick because he fills our need of a 3PT shooter. I think if we add a decent wing like Harris and a good post presence we will be better this season.Comment

The crazy part is we've still had draft picks over the last few years despite supposedly "giving up all of our picks" and still made the playoffs, which we'll do next year as well.#RespectTheCultureComment

Yeah, those Nets picks the Celtics own won't end up being gold as many C's fans seem to think. High lottery at best. Time to wake up from that dream. Celtics are not going to flip all those picks and become a contender overnight.
And as Pack said, it's about using those picks of quality players. Only time will tell how that goes.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Tonight, an hour before midnight, the Spurs will begin calling free agents. Gregg Popovich, however, says he won’t join in.
“I’m not calling anyone at midnight,” he said. “I’ll be in bed. And if that’s the difference in someone coming or not coming, then I don’t want them.”
That’s Popovich, mixing gruff humor with the truth. That’s also the only sales pitch that can work with LaMarcus Aldridge.
The free-agent prize from Texas, after all, has other options that include more money and more glamour and less pressure.
Aldridge has to want exactly what Popovich has to offer.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Yea I was talking about the quantity and we should be able to trade up in these upcoming drafts. I think next year we are going to 4 or 5 first rounders. So Ainge should definitely be able to move up in the draft next year. And this year I think is going be like last year where are fighting for the 7 or 8 seed. And then that offseason we will have a lot of space because of the cap rising plus losing that Wallace contract if we don't trade it this offseason.
See I'm not so sure them moving up in the draft is anything close to a lock. Take this year's draft as an example. Reports stated Boston were offering a "Godfather" like package to move up. Nothing happened! Couldn't even move up to 9. All I'm saying is I don't think all the picks Boston has at their disposal are as valuable as many fans want to think in trade situations. Hope I'm wrong, but something needs to happen in order for me to feel otherwise.Comment
