Wes Matthews Update: Sacramento offer to free-agent swingman is actually four-year deal at $16 million annually for total of $64 million
Raptors were interested in him too, actually had their own player(s?) meeting with him too. If 16M a year is what it'd take to get someone who you don't even know how he'll be after that injury(and might not play till December from what I heard?), I'd rather not take that risk.

Focus on C/PF and that's it at this point.

I'm just saying that for as much he handles the rock, and how much he moves around, he doesn't make enough happen for his teammates for me. Seen him screw up way too many possessions by making moves only to settle for a low percentage j or try a dumb circus shot. Especially late in games.

ESPN sources say Robin Lopez has chosen Knicks over Lakers and will join NYK as long as DeAndre Jordan, as expected, chooses Clips or Mavs

I was thinking that it was just this next season. I didn't know it was 2 seasons.

Not sure I get this. Why does this even matter? Obviously if Jordan decides to go Knicks then Lopez wouldn't go, cool. But if he doesn't go Clips or Mavs and signs instead with the Lakers for example, why would Lopez not follow through and sign with the Knicks? Not understanding that part of this.

While that was perhaps true in Golden State, I didn't see much of that while he was with the Mavs. He was one of the best players in the clutch in the past 2 seasons; Monta was something like top 5 in shooting% in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter when the winning team was up 10 or less. Also, in terms of teammates the only true shooters were Parsons and Dirk, and both were creating offense when having the ball instead of being standstill shooters, not something Monta could control.

Fair enough. I just don't see him as a key guy on a team that competes for anything of significance. Fun to watch at times, but then again so is Nate Robinson.

The Knicks can't afford both players.

If DJ (Knicks #1 priority) agrees to go to the Knicks, Lopez (Knicks #2 priority) will have to look elsewhere.

Poorly worded by Stein. Doesn't matter which team DJ chooses. As long as it's not the Knicks, Lopez will sign with them.

I'm surprised teams aren't more willing to go over the luxury cap this year. Seeing how the number goes up alot next year, why not just go over it this year, and next year you wouldn't even be over because of how much higher the cap will be, so you won't be taxed as a repeat offender.

Wasn't he just supposed to be heavily interested in NYC?

Knicks just need to move on and make the Lopez signing official.

                            DJ's not interested.

And I don't understand DJ's interest in the Mavs.

The Mavs have no PG which he needs and the Clips can pay him the most. Just end this already man.
